Mother Thames bursts her banks after months of heavy rainfall… what a beautiful spectacle she offers, the wonder and grace of nature. .. a formidable force indeed.. Her strength inspires me and her beauty leaves me breathless.

Don’t ask me – that’s the name of the barge nearest the camera. Taken in the dead of night in the mouth of the tunnel that enters Brecon Canal Basin. / It was freezing cold. / It was freezing raining. / I suffered for my art. Bless

Taken from Ryde Pier on the Isle of Wight, this picture is a scenic view overlooking a Thames Barge which has been run aground deliberately in order that the people on board can play on the sands at low tide. You can see No-Man’s Land fort in the background – a sea fort built in the middle of The Solent in the nineteenth century to guard against French invasion.

Keeshonds are wonderful fun dogs – but always hungry. Their joyful expressions are always a treat to those of us who own one. Si U figured : why wear our heart on our sleeve when we can do so on our chest?

Was fiddling around with the camera and achieved a rather elongated exposure of my dog. 3 seconds actually. The result was somewhat white but with a little detail. I did a tiny amount of contrast/brightness adjustment and was rewarded with this. Maybe I am biased – after all, I think he’s just wonderful – but this is now one of my favourite pictures of him :)

I was down at the Harbor this afternoon and I came across these barges floating in the water. The life perserver was drifting leisurely beside them, perhaps its effort was in vain. I thought this made would make a intersting photo with the vivid rust colors on the wharf and barges. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /
