The stillness of our warmth / two / together / our love is rooted deep
Two Mallee trees stand on a hill top as rain passes by. In days gone by they would have been protected by a family of trees but now they stand only together.
All is calm… all is white.
This was taken in a full on blizzard. This tree was about as far as I could see. / I had to use a slow shutter speed to avoid getting blurs from the snow. It only took a few seconds to take this, but I still had snow in my viewfinder, and it was as cold as it looks.
Taken at a small reserve at Melton, Victoria.
the easy silence you make for me

Check out my autumn art A rather unconventional colour for autumn, but I like it just the same. In case it has gone unnoticed, I absolutely love this particular Photoshop leaf brush. The background is an old painting.
The wall behind the tree was built in 1850 all the stones were lifted by hand, there are leaves at the top but decided this was a more affective capture. Also posted at: messa.deviantart.com This features a character from a story I am writing. Her name is Alice, and she is following someone through the wintery woods. I think this might be a dream sequence because she wouldn’t be able to survive harsh climates in that clothing otherwise!

For Rob. As of 11.23.09, 1361 views, 31 favorites, and 94 comments Towards the end of the novel, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Milan Kundera writes: “And therein lies the whole of man’s plight. Human time does not turn in a circle; it runs ahead in a straight line. That is why man cannot be happy: happiness is the longing for repetition.” I wondered then when I first read the novel—some 20 years ago, and I wonder today about the relationship(s) (probable and hypothetical) between happiness and repetition.
