Paik is not the most patient of people at any time, and where there is action afoot and swachbuckling to be done, she’s not one who likes to wait around.

Bards walk pencil drawing. This work was sketched on location with a bunch of other students and finished at art college. It shows a small passage between Medieval buildings black and white Tudor houses with a shade cast from an over hanging tree.

Whilst investigating what appeared to be a disused building deep in the forest, Paik heard the sound of something scraping across tiles. Spinning on her heel and drawing her sword she was greeted by the open maw of a snake the likes of which she had never seen and only heard of in rumor – a Dinokonder.

Bard Peak at Burns Glacier and Portage Lake. / 07 October 2007. / Nikon D70s. I moved to Alaska (from Florida) in the summer of 2007. Since arriving in Alaska, I’ve had to adjust to a completely different level of existence. In Alaska, the human body feels much smaller. The landscape is bigger, the animals are bigger… Everything is more epic. One similarity, however, is the color blue. Specifically, blue as it applies to water and as it applies to sky. Of course, the water up here tends to be somewhat frozen, but alas – blue is still the name of the game. This photograph is from Burns Glacier at Portage Lake, a bit east of Anchorage and north of the Kenai Peninsula. There’s a paradoxical and simultaneous smoothness and roughness to the mountains and glaciers of southcentral Alaska. I haven’t quite been able to wrap my head around it yet. All I can do is explore, learn, and be amazed. Janson, / http://floridana.typepad.com
