A rework of a previous image. Frost on our japanese maple tree, a couple of winters ago. It can get cold in the Adelaide Hills! Location – Nairne. Today we visited the Medieval Festival held at Gumeracha, in the Adelaide Hills. There were so many interesting people there, including this man, Keith, who makes silver jewelry and replica artifacts from the past. His particular love is viking history. He was dressed in period costume and his hair and beard were perfect – in fact he could have stepped out of a previous time. He was interesting to talk with, and kind enough to pose for me. I have layered his portrait with some textures to bring out the depth of the character in his wonderful face. Oh, and that is a great walking staff he is holding – a great weapon for defending oneself, if you have to. Canon 40D, Sigma 18-200 / various textures added in photoshop.
