Second in the Series Titled “Hope’. This has been one of my most favourite images. It won the Abstract section in the Wyong Shire Photography Competition 2006.
This has been floating around my room for absolutely ages now, but ive only just had the time to actually sit down and finish it. It was half coloured in, but because it had been like that for ages it just didnt seem right to colour the rest, so i got out a brush and streaked it with water. The flowers are took off google images. I’ll let you figure out the symbolism in it :) —-—-—-—-—-—-—— / Thank You For Viewing / Original By Emma Black / Do Not Use Without Permission
This is an infrared shot. It was a very overcast day – not much blue sky about at all so I tried something a little different with this one. / Hope you like it.
I’ve been playing with this shot for way too long. I’ve done about 8 versions and can’t decide which one, if any, I like best. This is the one I’m posting…any feedback would be great – you know how it is when you overwork something – can’t see the good bits through all of the annoying bits. / / / Camera: FujiFilm FinePix S7000 / Location: Tumut in the Land of Oz / / ISO200 / f/8 / 4.0sec exposure / R72 filter / Tripod / / POSTSCRIPT / / After reading everyones comments, I’m changing my opinion of this pic now. I’ve looked at the other 7 versions and this one is definately the best, actually by a long way so I’m glad I persisted with it…I think I’m happy with it now….and besides my limited photoshopping skills have run out – I wouldn’t know what else to do with it anyway….lol
I like the use of selected colouring on this because of the brown colour of the wire. The background of the old water tank sets up the scene perfectly, along with the Lithgow Valley Mountain range behind it.
Taken in the Southern Highlands, NSW Australia on Easter Monday. / / MALE VOICE, STAGE RIGHT: “What’s she doing now??!! All this beautiful scenery and she’s off photographing a barbed wire fence!” / So this photo is to prove a point … of sorts!! Roger Sampson has again encapulated the essence of a scene in a few succinct words, writing this in response to the original Beauty and the Barbed Wire I uploaded recently. Thank you Roger, my wordsmith friend. / Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM

I’m proud to report that this image is used as the cover-image for the 7-inch vinyl ‘Scars’ record by the Canadian punk/hardcore band called Damages / . / This is a fully detailed photo of a real piece of fencing in Weston-super-Mare. I couldn’t resist the paradoxically soft, curvy, lazy loops of unfriendly sharp razor-wire, sitting above the rigidly regular fence! I adjusted the image a little to keep that dark, dark background. / . / Thank you to the Just Lines Group and the Don’t Fence Me In Group for featuring this photo in 2008! / . / Many thanks to the Shapes & Patterns Group for featuring this photo, on July 9th 2009. / . / / .
It was dark. And the smell of death hung heavy in the damp, stagnant air. I knew it wasn’t safe, but the promise and the temptation pulled me forward… deeper and deeper until I was in way too far to turn back. Suddenly she was upon me, the manifestation of my dreams surrounding me in multiple visions of my burning lust… but turned against me with the force of a thousand demons and sinking sharp into my taut skin like steel rivets… There was no escape this time. I am truly captive as she appears again and again to torment my soul. Even if I survive, I know that I will never be released as I am under the curse of the raven. / My spirit to roam free, never more. Never more… But jeeze, what an awesome way to go, yeah? BB AKA BillyBoy Thanks so much BB for letting me chew on you a bit lol. No seriously this was really a great collab. I hope we can do more! Hugs Love v

a bird on a barbed wire fence in Lawton OK. This is very near my home… Nikon D80 / May 7, 2009] We have birds making nests in our bbq if we leave the lid down. When I open it, I find bits of trash that they have collected along with the straw and twigs. We should all pay more attention to where our trash is ending up and maybe trying to buy “Naked Products” which are products with a little to no packagins as possible. Buy local and aways recycle! ;) 1390 views at time of entry to The 500 Views Group
