  • This is an oil painting on canvas and is 121cm x 211cm. I have always been fascinated by these type of trees. These ones are on Magnetic Island. I am exploring the theme “Entangled” and these are perfect. I used to think of them as a playground, with cubbies and secret passage ways. Now they form an entangled mass, with false openings and a never ending barricade. I think this is more psychological than physical.

  • In Hilo on the big Island of Hawaii just across the street from a hospital is this banyan tree in a grove of very large banyan trees. This was taken with a tripod as it was dark underneath the canopy of leaves.

  • Buddha head embedded in the roots of a mature Banyan Tree at the temple complex of Wat Mahathat, Ayutthaya, Thailand

  • A golden beach near Lahaina glowing in the light of the setting sun as a gnarled Banyan Tree appears to reach for drink in the rising tide.

  • These beautiful banyan trees stand together, like three sisters, at the water’s edge overlooking Tampa Bay from the south side of St. Petersburg, Florida. They actually reside in a small, park-like setting adjunct to the hospital in which my mother spent some time of her final illness. Visiting her every day for those weeks, I often found refuge under these vary trees, absorbing some of their strength and wisdom. / / The day that I shot this picture, sun was so bright, it nearly eradicated the water beyond the trees, but you can still discern the reflection of the blue sky and white clouds. Many, MANY thanks to the wonderful person who bought both a card as well as a framed print of this picture. Blessings on you. • While riding down the street in Boca Grande, Florida, Kathy sees this street, and practically made my head fall off lmao, but oh was it worth it ,what a magical looking street this was, I took this photo pretty low to the ground as far as me ole bones could let me, (otherwise I couldn’t get up) and chose this angle to shoot from, the street is lined with banyan trees and the branches hang so low, the roots so thick running all over the place, and the sounds of the figs falling and birds singing, and the breeze ever so slight but enough to cool you down because the suns shines very little through the tops of the trees, as I stand there with wonder in my eyes never seeing such a beautiful sight before, wondering if magic will happen at night time and bring all the little forest creatures out of their hiding places, stumbling about picking up all the figs for the next days meals, oh but what your imagination can invoke on sight such as this, thaks for taking a look….gina Boca Grande Florida Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTi / Shooting Date/Time 6/20/2009 10:20:18 / Tv(Shutter Speed)1/200Sec. / Av(Aperture Value) F8.0 / Metering Modes Evaluative metering / ISO Speed 400 / Lens19-35mm / Focal Length 35.0 mm / Image size 3888×2592 / Image Quality RAW / Flash Off / White Balance Cloudy / Picture Style Landscape / Tone Curve : Standard / Sharpness : 7 / Color saturation :1
