This classic Banksy stencil used to be up on a wall along Clerkenwell Rd, London. Unfortunately, after having been covered up for the last few weeks, it is now gone and to make matters worse, similar ‘Banksy Disappearances’ are happening all over London. Through either being covered up with board or by removing the entire wall or (as the case was with this piece) by being completely whitewashed out. It is a real shame as it is the public who are the ones that miss out.

So seeing as i get the Banksy thing a bit on here, i figure why the hell not appropriate his ‘Broken Window Theory’ image. And cause i feel this way right now…hey at least i’m still making art! FYI… / This is based on an article titled Broken Windows by James Q. Wilson and George L. Kelling, which appeared in the March 1982 edition of The Atlantic Monthly.[1] The title comes from the following example: “Consider a building with a few broken windows. If the windows are not repaired, the tendency is for vandals to break a few more windows. Eventually, they may even break into the building, and if it’s unoccupied, perhaps become squatters or light fires inside. This image is a parody based around both Magritte(His artwork…The treachery of Images…most will know as, This is not a Pipe.) and Banksy’s artworks being blatently copied and pasted…and sold as if owned by the new creator…Oh…and a cool converstaion about copyright in relation to graffiti that was going down in the forum at A.R.S.E. started by Ange recently. read the conversation here If i stuffed up the french…sorry…pardon my french! ;-P

This Banksy piece used to be opposite Exmouth Market, London. Unfortunately this is another of the Banksy Disappearances. Visit this spot now and all you will see is a wooden board covering what was once a great piece or urban art.
Original Image – The Tea Factory, Liverpool First in a possible series of a recurring character and his adventures in Liverpool. Photo manipulation where the light from the torch is seen casting a shadow. Really pleased with the result and shall continue to find suitable locations for edit.

Using Pablo Picasso’s Dove and a Banksy style grenade. No offence Mr Picasso… I adore your Dove! I also love the work of Banksy!! Enjoy.

You too could be Banksy, though you won’t be nearly as unnoticable as the real man. PS: Real Banksy, if you see and buy this, please let me know, as that would be so wonderfully ironic =)
