Well this is the shot that made it into the 2008 channel ten weather calendar, so I’m pretty proud of that.Getting this into the calendar was my first… ‘public’ recognition of my work so this is a pretty special shot to me. it is lightning over Adelaide looking down from Mount Osmond. It was taken in December 2006 and featured on the following nights news broadcast.

Bang! was a scribble that I drew while at the Markets. It depicts a cannon shaped liked a cement mixer shooting out a scared little canon ball. Two other balls are very humored by his predicament… Scotty

Last Anzac day we had a fireworks show down at Brighton Jetty (on south austrlia’s western coast) just after the sun went down. Here’s what i came up with. / ps. ANZAC stands for Australia / New Zealand Army Corps, and we celebrate ANZAC day to remember all the fallen heroes in our country’s history.

My favorite band Avenged Sevenfold at the very end of their set. / They were the headlining band at How the Edge Stole Christmas – Night 2 on December 15, 2007. / Avenged Sevenfold is a metal/hard rock band (for those who don’t know) and you can get think through what they’re wearing, and the obvious international “rock on” hand / One of their best songs, Unholy Confessions, was the song they ended with. / At the end of the song, during the last main riff (which is when your blood is pumping, adrenaline rushing through your body, VERY intense part of the song) smoke starts flowing and on a big down beat at the peak of intesity confetti shot out and everyone went insane / luckily I was able to get that shot after I nearly passed out from screaming along with the song and going total ape sh*t when the confetti went off =]

by Steve AxfordIndonesia has more active volcanoes than any country in the world (about 60). This is one of the biggest and most active. It is Mt Semeru, which is located in the Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park at the eastern end of the island of Java. This photo was taken from the top of the mountain. It’s a hard climb as Semeru is 3,676m high and the last 700m is volcanic ash and very hard work – but worth it for the view at the top. Semeru erupts every 10 minutes or so and this was a little bigger than average and big enough to cause that distictive mushroom cloud. This only happens when the explosion gas bubble reaches a critical size. Not as dangerous as it looks, but a real buzz to be that close.
