Looks are often deceiving. We wear our pants baggy. / We wear bandanas. / We are often disregarded as knuckle-draggers. But the girls in this photo are both studying at college and university; are polite, well-mannered; and intelligent members of society. Let’s stop judging on appearances.

Although I created this image in 2007, and had titled it “Girls,” I didn’t fully realize what it meant until just this week. In the news, a husband kills his wife, by placing a plastic bag over her head, hangs her, and flees with the three children after countless please for help to local authorities. A father is convicted of keeping his daughter locked up as a sex slave for 24 years. Daughter now 42. Many females are enslaved, murdered, raped, tortured all over the world, and many more will remain faceless to us. Stop, think, and listen.

Collaberation with Angel Perry So while at the NHRA Nationals in Petersburg, Virginia I stumbled upon this little fella in Victory Lane (he belonged to a dragracer that was about to receive a trophy). / I liked the image right away, but wanted to get a little more something out of it, so I asked fellow Bubbler Angel Perry to see if she can work some of her fractal magic on it.
