  • Playing for Change....
    by Sheila Pasket

    CHANGE…..what a concept

Featured in Live, Love, Dream May 2009! I am honored, blessed and floored by this feature. Thank you so much!! Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” ~John 20:29 Choose Greatness…Choose GOD! When given the option for greatness in life, it’s easy to opt out time and time again, until it becomes a habit. “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.” ~1 John 3:16-20

  • Miss Terrie
    by Lenny La Rue, IPA

    What you need…

These are the lyrics from a song I wrote a long time ago. I recorded using a meticulously programmed stereo drum machine, a solo voice, harmony voice, three faked voices using a Boss 150 multi-effects box, a CryBaby wah wah, at least 5 obsolete electronic synthesizers on Fostex 4-track cassette recorder. One might wonder how so much crap can be done by one person on a tape recorder that only has the ability to record 4 monophonic tracks. Consider the Beatles, who recorded their entire pronominal body of work using 4 tracks of tape! Needless to say, they did it right and recorded multiple tracks perfectly at the same time; I did it terribly and “bounced” tracks onto each other, making multi-layers into a single layer (track) and then adding more before bouncing that to a single track, and did it all once more for three tracks of unmixable music to be the ‘band and background singers’. Then I committed the atrocity of singing as loudly as possible into a $25 mic, pretending I was the lead singer. The results were shockingly bad but funny as hell. :-D The one thing you can easily see from the lyrics is my profound loneliness, insecurity, and shyness goes back at least as far as the late 20th century. What you may not notice immediately is that you know Terrie. PS No, I’m not going to humiliate myself further by adding the recording to my YouTube collection. Suffice it to say, you don’t deserve that sort of brutality and YouTube doesn’t deserve the lost storage. LOL! PPS If you can’t remember who Miss Terrie is, I might tell you in a Bmail if you ask very gingerly. PPPS No, I wasn’t a virgin when I wrote this. How in the world could you THINK such a thing?!?
