“Don’t ask me! I’m just the drummer.” How often has a drummer said that?
Recently we did a test shoot for two really funny and crazy guys who also happen to make music together, Jase and Tom after their manager aeris saw my stuff on RedBubble and decided I am shit hot at what I do. (I’m working on the modesty bit, I swear.) Anyway they really really didn’t want to do a photo shoot in a smelly, public, and damp mens’ toilet so naturally I nagged at them until they relented. Then the first thing their manager said upon viewing this image was “That one’s for RedBubble!” So here it is.

Captured this scene while crossing the Charles Bridge in Prague, heading to Prague Castle. During the day Charles Bridge comes to life with all sorts of artists, painters, performers and the like, a really neat place to visit. Charles Bridge crosses the river Vltava (Moldau), construction began in 1357! I can only highly recommend a visit to Prague, if you ever get a chance. I hope to return here someday for an extended photo safari. This is an HDR image, taken with my first DSLR, the Nikon D50 coupled with a Tokina 12-24mm lens and Feisol carbon fibre tripod with Gitzo head. My art with 1000+ views

“Rhythms of the Heart” Inner rhythm keeps time… / music flowing… / internal. / external. / Sounds branching out… / Inspiration poised / to take flight. ((Details: Image created in photoshop, abstract/visionary/surreal/digital art tshirt design by Leah McNeir, 2009. This design features the silhouette of an acoustic guitar with a treble clef emblazoned on the guitar body, a raven clasping a musical note, and our inner metronome- the human heart, branching out like a Celtic Tree of Life’s limbs & roots, with color details of veins as in a circulatory system resonating the rhythm of life. )) / Thank you to all who voted in the MUSIC MACHINES challenge held by Redbubble and DEMO! ‘Rhythms of the Heart’ has come in 3rd place in the public voting portion of this challenge! This song kept going ‘round in my head while I was working on this latest piece in my ongoing musical themed series. Jazz Man / (by Carol King) Lift me, won’t you lift me above the old routine / Make it nice, play it clean, Jazz man When the Jazz man’s testifyin’ / A faithless man believes / He can sing you into paradise / Or bring you to your knees / It’s a gospel kind of feelin’ / A touch of Georgia slide / A song of pure revival / And a style that’s sanctified Jazz man, take my blues away / Make my pain the same as yours / With every change you play / Jazz man, oh, Jazz man When the Jazz man’s signifyin’ / And the band is windin’ low / It’s the late night side of morning / In the darkness of his soul / He can fill a room with sadness / As he fills his horn with tears / He can cry like a fallen angel / When risin’ time is near Jazz man, take my blues away / Make my pain the same as yours / With every change you play Oh, lift me, won’t you lift me with every turnaround / Play it sweetly, take me down, oh, Jazz man Here’s how it looks printed on canvas: /
