  • Taken during a sailing trip in Germany, Heiligenhafen. / We anchored in front of a beautiful coast. When I saw the shining red from the yacht I just had to go there. So I took the dinghy and went up a hill to this hugh poppiy field. It was worth the effort….the sea of red was amazing. check what the product looks like here thank you for stopping by!

  • BALTIC SEA, SUNSET check what the product looks like here thank you for stopping by!

  • This is one of the many famous bridges in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. Known sometimes as ‘the eye bridge’ , but its proper name is the Millenium Bridge. In the background on the right is the Baltic Flour Mill which is now a contemporary art museum. ( note the little space invader in the upper window) ;) Processed using the same settings and processes as the Brighton Pier picture, that so many of you were very kind with your words about.

  • Sunrise, looking from the span of the Tyne Bridge towards the Millennium Bridge, the Sage and the Baltic.

  • A photo from my project “Latvian Landscapes”.

  • I tried something new today. I climbed the cliffs. Usually I’m on my knees down there between the stones. This is just south of Rønne, this beach is much more rocky than the one north of town. There are the groynes, if these weren’t there, there would be no beach here and the cliffs would be several meters inland. But just around the point the beach is even more rocky, and that’s where a lot of my rocky beach pictures were shot.

  • The sunrises in summer are really spectacular at the outer Kiel Fjord on the western shores of the Baltic Sea. With one big but: the clouds. Often they add to the overall view, but just as often they spoil the view. This summer I just did not get one sunrise like this one taken in August last year. I suppose you will forgive me for presenting you an old shot. Near Kiel, 6th August 2007, 5.50 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 200 mm / F 20, 1/400, ISO 200

  • When the first light of the morning sun hits the stones on the beach near the lighthouse of Bülk on the Baltic Sea, their varied shapes and colours are even more accentuated. Taken in August 2007 near Kiel. Near Kiel (Bülk), 6th August 2007, 5.55 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 18 mm / F 3,5, 1/60, ISO 200

  • Another non-dereliction picture from me, dont worry, normal service will be resumed soon :P A picture of arguably the three most famous bridges that span the tyne, namely the Swing Bridge, Tyne Bridge and the Millennium Bridge, from front to back. Also on the right can be seen the top of the Sage, Gateshead, a world renowned concert hall and the Baltic Contemporary Art Gallery can be seen above the centre of the Swing Bridge.

  • I am in the centre with flag and my son From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia / This article is about the 1989 demonstration. For the mathematical contest commemorating it, see Baltic Way (mathematical contest).* Human chain formed in Lithuania / The Baltic Way or Baltic Chain (also Chain of Freedom,[1] Estonian: Balti kett, Latvian: Baltijas ceļš, Lithuanian: Baltijos kelias) was a peaceful political protest on August 23, 1989. Approximately two million people joined their hands to form a human chain spanning over 600 kilometres (370 mi) across the three Baltic states – Estonian SSR, Latvian SSR, and Lithuanian SSR, republics of the Soviet Union. It marked the 50th anniversary of the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany. The pact and its secret protocols divided Eastern Europe into spheres of influence and led to the occupation of the Baltic states in 1940. The event was organized by Baltic pro-independence movements: Rahvarinne of Estonia, Popular Front of Latvia, and Sąjūdis of Lithuania. The protest was designed to draw world’s attention by showcasing popular desire for independence and solidarity among the Baltic states. It has been described as an effective publicity campaign, emotionally captivating and visually stunning scene.2 The event presented an opportunity for the Baltic activists to promote their view of illegal Soviet occupation and position the question of Baltic independence not as a political matter, but as a moral issue. Soviet authorities in Moscow responded to the event with intense rhetoric,[2] but failed to take any constructive actions that could bridge the widening gap between the Baltic states and the Soviet Union. Within six months from the protest, Lithuania became the first of the Republics of the Soviet Union to declare independence.

  • Taken in Newcastle, this is the view from the Newcastle side of the River Tyne towards Gateshead. The building in the centre of the image is the old Baltic Flour Mill and now the Centre for Contemporary Arts with an interesting rotation of “art” works. Converted into a pinhole black and white

  • This is the view up the River Tyne as it flows through Newcastle and Gateshead. A city now as famous for it’s bridges as it’s industrial past, while Gateshead is reinvented as a Art Cultural area. The coming rain storm can really be seen in the sky as the fading light bounces off the Sage.
