Dawn in the Alice Springs area is a special time – like dusk, you’ll see those magic colours that are a feature of the Namitjira paintings. Floating in a hot air balloon on a cold, wintery morning adds and extra dimension. It was just magic.
An altered photo of a hot air balloon taken in flight on a cold winters day

Hot Air Ballooning in Egypt.
photo from a balloon race…...
While traveling through the Red Center of Australia, I had the opportunity to take an early morning hot air balloon flight over the desert. What a lovely, peaceful experience to be so high in the air that I was able to look down and see kangaroos bouncing along all over the bush in the light of dawn! This shot was taken inside the hot air balloon basket looking up at the balloon overhead. It has not been retouched at all. The morning light made the balloon glow as it appears to in the picture. It reminded me of an eye, with its blue center, thus the title. Much of outback Australia is marked by the two colors of orange and blue- orange the color of the red iron earth & blue that of the sky. This colors in this shot were perfectly in line with where they were being captured.
Before stepping into a hot air balloon I took a photo of the flame … which inspired this. Processed in Photoshop, painted in Painter. All proceeds from sales goes to World Vision, an organisation dedicated to looking after children in Third World countries. Check out my web site www.twistedirony.com.
Bridge in Steamboat Springs, CO…. I added in the hotair balloon, and included the lucistart filter to this image. I am finally done editing my CO images – all 960 of them. I deleted some and added new ones while in edit, and now I have 908 total. =) It’s nice to be done! Colorado Images
32nd Annual Balloon Festival, Colorado Springs, CO USA Labor Day Weekend…....... a view of my little corner of the world!!!
At a hot air balloon festival i happened to catch a Dinosaur devouring one of the balloons. Well, not really, but somehow everything aligned just right to make this rather unexpected shot. LUNCH was featured in the Come Fly With Me Group

It wasafter 8:00 and a lot of the balloons were already in the sky. Of course then the battery ran out in my camera and I had to use my son’s, which is a Kodak V1073 Touchscreen Digital 10 Megapixals. The zoom is not as good as mine, but I think this and the next few turned out o.k. / Enjoy, / Teri
