A very colourful bench sitting in front of one of the many cafes on Baldwin Street in Toronto. Baldwin Street is famous for its multitude of cafes and is a fabulous place to visit.

I woke up one morning to catch the sunrise at Convict Lake and on my return trip to my campsite I decided to venture down McGee Canyon. It was still fairly early in the morning and I was exploring the area when this pack train wandered by, presumably on their way to bring supplies to some people in the upper areas of the canyon. The mountains of McGee Canyon are composed of metamorphic rock. On the left is Mount Baldwin and on the right is Mount Aggie.

This is a subpeak of Mount Morgan I guess, it’s unnamed. I was driving down a dirt road that leads into the canyon and the early morning shadows on this mountain just drew me in. I got out and took quite a few photos trying to capture it best. I think B&W works well with such a contrasty scene.

This is Mary Ann Cranfield, my mother’s grandmother, born 1862. She married Henry Godfrey BALDWIN but in about 1900 she with her children, arrived in Newcastle from Kent and changed the family name to GODFREY. / So is there any Godfreys out there with relations called Baldwin and visa versa, please get in touch. / 31/12/2009. / New clean unbattered photo obtained from my mother’s cousin by my 2nd cousin.

Baldwin’s Book Barn, located in West Chester, Pennsylvania, is a beautifully restored barn built in 1822. Country charm and rustic ambience, combined with both new and old books, make this book store a must see. Cozy corners accented by stone walls, are filled with antique chairs that compliment random width floors. Five stories tall, each floor is filled with books on almost every subject that you can possibly imagine. Many books are rare first editions. I must have spent at least two hours inside browsing through books and taking a multitude of pictures. This photograph was shot with a Canon 40D. /

Every story is packed with books and stories (pun intended)! Nooks and crannies with chairs and old artifacts make this barn not only an exceptional place to shop, but it is also a wonderful treasure trove for anyone who is interested in history. Many books are rare first editions. Filled with ambience, charm and rustic stone walls paired with original random width floors, the book store breathes to life an era gone by. Yaquina Pacific Railroad Historical Society chartered in 1993 as a chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, operate a railroad and logging Heritage Square in Toledo, Oregon, USA population 3,500. We have a static display of a 1922 Baldwin Steam engine, a 1923 Railway Post Office car, Southern Pacific #5132(under restoration) and a 1907 the Southern Pacific #573 wood-sided caboose that serves as our office and display center. The caboose is the oldest surviving restored wood caboose in Oregon and perhaps the Northwest.
