Some moments are so powerful to our memories that we wish to repeat them and to contain them for eternity. Rarely do we get to repeat them, and so they become special to us. / I share some of my own moments by way of my camera. -Jack / With Love for Mom and Dad for 2010!

A selection from a photographic series of images shot at a semi secret location in Sydney. Beautiful, yet, decaying graffiti images are sprayed on the walls and surfaces of this abandoned warehouse filled with the decomposing remains of vehicles and assorted relics of a bygone era. The richness of colour provided by the artwork on the walls is balanced by the earthy textures and rusty facades of the decrepit environment. As nature invades this once populated space, I, as a witness to the ephemeral wonder, was impelled to document the drama taking place before my eyes. Using the idea of watching the scenes unfold before me, I utilised the symbolic (and abundant) object of a chair to engage the viewer so they would consider appreciating the amazing location for themselves by sitting back and enjoying the show.
This calander features many of the images I have taken as a Country Fire Authority Volunteer, from Strike Teams to washing a visiting U.S. fighter jet, all of these images show the CFA as seen through the eyes of a Volunteer. Execpt for December, that was Carols by Candlelight in Geelong, the only kind of fire we like to see in December!
a homage to some of the punks that made Sydney what it was way back in the early eighties … it was a different time and place then and a much grittier darker place… the punks and the rock bands have gone but the spirit remains…
