BW drawing with graphite of young girl about 14 with baby on shoulders both laughing 22×30 on coquille paper / This is a drawing from a photograph I took of my daughter and my babysitter…They were running around the yard and Lesly my babysitter was all hot and out of breath when I got the shot….I thought it would make a good drawing. The girls are 2yrs and 14 years / I used Coquile cold press paper here…it is my choice of paper I usually use…it has a stiple surface…know surprises…..It excepts graphite really well…you don’t get a led shine. I use it as a part of the whole effect I want to achieve. I used graded pencils from 2H to 9B
Black and white print of quarter horse mare and foals with cloudy skies and sunbeams
gotta watch out for those teddy bears… handrawn in Adobe illustrator
©Seth Weaver,Sr. 05/01/09. I ran across this 3 year old pen & ink and marker sketch of mine that was inspired by the old song by Paul Robeson “Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child.” I just finished a work of that title soon to be loaded, when further perfected. I thought the slaves in the fields often had to take their young children with them while they worked if there was no one to watch them for them. Imagine a clever mother that told her young baby to stay with the Scarecrow, so Mother could work and occasionally glance over to check out the baby. The Scarecrow became a babysitter plus keeping the crows away. Original multi-tasking. / A DigyMix™ creation.
Seven of the eleven 2008 season foals have been left in the care of the 2 leopard mares (Fancy & Harli). As it was a really hot day, most of the foals were sleeping in the shade whilst their mums grazed out under the blazing sun. No matter how far the mares move away from their foals, they are completely relaxed knowing there are 2 guardians on watch during their child-free break. As an aside, Fancy & Harli are related through the Colida’s Lad bloodline, their own mothers were 1/2 sisters. These foals are a mixed group of Quarter Horses & Appaloosa’s.
A Blue Hmong opium addict babysits her grandchildren while their parents work their fields. The sad reality of life in the northern Thai mountains when hilltribes like the Hmong cultivated opium poppy was that many elders, both men and women, became addicts. Often they started by using the drug to relieve pain, as it was effective and the only option in remote villages. As long as the families grew poppy the elderly addicts were a supportable burden. Unlike in the west, the addicts were not ostracised, and often maintained positions of respect within their communities.
(I AM NOT AN ARTIST I AM JUST A MAN WHO PAINTS.L.S.LOWRY).... I have been painting as an amateur artist on and off for many years.I have over the years developed a very unusual use of colour and content, which I now know from experience appeal to many people, Including individual collectors and dealers. Newcastle upon Tyne England has been a hotbed of heavy Industry since the beginning of the industrial revolution, most of which has now gone forever. A lot of my paintings are recollections of youthful images of the period, late 1940s and 1950s. They are inspired by local naïve and primitive pitmen artists I am also an admirer of L.S.LOWRY, and the great American artist EDWARD HOPPER .AND GRANMA MOSES among others. Little Girl “reading” stories to her dolls
2 weeks have passed since the last photos of the baby pelicans and they have grown to the size of a fully grown hen, They shuffle around near the water watched by a couple of birds. They are unable to stand on their own feet. I think the weight is a factor, Only one baby stood up but not for two long. Still featherless apart from a few pin feathers emerging Olympus E-520 Auto setting Telephoto 70-300 lens as is from the camera
