Eurasian Eagle Owl ( Bubo bubo ) This little girl who has no pet name as yet they just call her baby she is only three weeks old and is part of a successful breeding program and probably the cutest bird that I have uploaded to date she was just adorable…. (-: Description: When of adult size the upperparts are brown-black and tawny-buff, showing as dense freckling on the forehead and crown, stripes on the nape, sides and back of the neck, and dark splotches on the pale ground colour of the back, mantle and scapulars. A narrow buff band, freckled with brown buff, runs up from the base of the bill, above the inner part of the eye and along the inner edge of the black-brown, “ear-tufts”. Habits: Active mainly at dusk to dawn. Flight is noiseless, whith soft wingbeats interrupted by gliding when flying over long distance. Will sometimes soar. Voice: A deep, monotonous “oohu-oohu-oohu”. The female’s call is slightly higher than the male’s. When threatened, they may bark and growl. Hunting & Food: Eagle Owls have various hunting techniques, and will take prey on the ground or in full flight. They may hunt in forests, but prefer open spaces. / Eagle Owls will eat almost anything the moves – from beetles to roe deer fawns. The major part of their diet consists of mammals (Voles, rats, mice, foxes, hares etc…), but birds of all kinds are also taken, including crows, ducks, grouse, seabirds, and even other birds of prey (including other owls). Other prey taken include snakes, lizards, frogs, fish, and crabs. / The most common type of prey depends largely on relative availability, but are usually voles and rats. In some coastal areas, they have been known to feed mainly on ducks and seabirds. / Pellets are somewhat compressed, irregularly cylindrical or conical shaped, averaging about 75×32 mm (3×1.25”). Habitat: Eagle Owls occupy a variety of habitats, from coniferous forests to warm deserts. Rocky landscapes are often favoured. Adequate food supply and nesting sites seem to be the most important prerequisites. Distribution: North Africa, Europe, Asia, Middle East.

This elderly woman sits at the window and contemplates the world outside. She does not see far beyond the window frame because her world has diminished considerably. Two years ago she was officially diagnosed with dementia after a life threatening surgery and long hospital stay. However, her family and friends noticed a difference in her personality over the last several years. Once a proud and hard working single mom, she raised two children during the 60’s and 70’s at a time when single parenthood was not as widely accepted as it is today. At present, she is reduced to little more than the passive demeanor of a quiet child. She is aware of the reduction in both her mental and physical abilities. She also understands that she is helpless to change anything. / It takes great courage to face the inevitable. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia; it accounts for 64 per cent of all dementias. For example right now in the US, Alzeihmer’s has surpassed diabetes and is the sixth leading cause of death. As baby boomers are rapidly approaching the age of retirement it is believed that 10 million baby boomers will develop Alzheimer’s in their lifetime. by KcranmerArtDear friends… Per the request of my dear friend Sarah Moore I am re-uploading a dream request I created for her and her family in the honor of her baby boy Axel. Sarah…since the day you asked me to create your dream request of your sweet Axel…was the day I felt like Axel stepped into my heart. I’ve never put so much passion into one image in my life. And to explain in more detail…it takes me some time to create a new image…but when I created this of your boy…everything came to me like 2nd nature. I really and truly feel in my heart, that a little helper was at my side when I made this. I wanted to tell you this when I first created it for you…but knew how emotional the times were…so with that…I am once again honored to share the spirit of Axel! Many of you will remember, and some of you may be new to the news of Sarah Moore’s little boy Axel. Please read below. Sad news …This is Rosalie, Sarah’s mum writing on Sarah’s behalf. / Locals may have heard already on the news of the drowning of a 15mth old in the northwest of Sydney. This is Axel, Sarah and Glen’s little son. / As you can imagine everyone is devestated. One never expects it to happen in your own family … / Please feel free to leave messages here if you feel so moved – they are rather overwhelmed with calls and all the due processes right now but do appreciate the care that their friends are offering. / Feel free to bubblemail me directly (RosalieDale) if you have any questions or any direct messages – I’ll check in a couple of times a day just to check for mail. / Thank you all … / Rosalie Sarah’s Heart Felt Thanks / I finally have a few minutes to catch my breath and thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for your thoughts, prayers and incredible generosity. pencil on paper (Stonehenge) drawing – image size 14.5” diameter circle – ORIGINAL SOLD So this is a take-off on that game of what force is stronger than the other, but it’s also a little play on those words. This is my wish – perhaps naive of me – that love is the force greater than all the darkness. His/her little face makes me happy. That’s enough. Since this is a circular image, it doesn’t lend itself well to a greeting card in full, but if you visit the detailed entry of it, it works really nicely that way. This was another piece I did for a local benefit two years ago. All participating artists were given 12×12” plywood boards that we could do whatever we liked with. I took a print of my drawing Rock, Scissors, Paper / and cut it down – wrapping it entirely around the board. Then I added white painted branches and made some little leaves out of screen for embellishment. This was awarded at the exhibition to my surprise and delight.
