Sales of this TShirt ? – 1 sale so far :) / Madonna and Child TShirt by Karin Taylor / Created on brown paper with white acrylic gesso / pastels and felt pen, and a little photoshopping I thought this would be a nice design for mums-to-be or those still breastfeeding their babies, it’s often hard to find appropriate clothing for the times when we are the nurturers….you could also wear this to the hospital for after the delivery, etc. It would also be nice to wear around Christmas time :D I have also created designs for cards and prints in two other variations of this design, a welcome/congratulations card/print as well as one with a fresh whitebackground that would look wonderful in the baby’s nursery

I think this would make a good maternity card or even a great gift as a print for someone expecting or someone that has an occupation that deals with birth.
My daughter asked me to photograph her baby bump, “its all the fashion now” she says. She didn’t want her face or her bum on, just her bump, but she also wanted her husbands hands on her tummy. We tried all ways, partly clothed, her husband with his hands from behind, lying down, but decided this was the best view of all the shots. I have tried to make it look as artistic and tasteful as possible for her, I don’t usually take shots like this so is an experiment for me. I also added a texture layer, hence the slight scratches, colour and blurring. She has given permission to post it on RB as long as her face is not on view, and as long as I air brush some of her creases out and slim down her bum a bit. She makes me laugh, so heavily pregnant yet still trying to maintain her image. She still has about 12 weeks to go. Does anyone think I need the safe filter on this image, please let me know, I would hate to offend anyone, I personally find it not in the least offensive only beautiful.
Pregnancy belly :)

/ / Original pencil drawing on Aquarelle Arches paper 56×76cm / Drawing 15 hours/painting 12 hours = 27 hours total A digitally painted hand drawn artwork… the inspiration for this is “Meeting Places”... As a child one of the most frequent things we did together as a family was to attend church on Sundays, I went to a Catholic School and the church I remember best was St Agnes’ at Port Macquarie… the nuns would come over for morning tea sometimes, and the priests would come for dinner occasionally…they were the days of fun parish picnics and life that wasn’t so hurried..when we took time to socialise, meeting and enjoying one another’s company. Mum was/is a great cook and host…and although this picture isn’t authentic as a portrait of her and myself…it’s representative. It’s also representative of new life and hope for the future, as the mother figure is with child….. and the child herself nurtures the wildlife…perhaps she is taking them to church for a blessing… perhaps the joey has lost his mother and needs nursing til he can fend for himself. The kookaburra is all seeing and all knowing….. the wise overseer of the bush… in this case, he stands in as the owl figure.
