Can you feel it? Love and care… I have taken this photograph because I’ve seen a lovely picture of love and care before my eyes… / Two years later I went back to the negative, scanned it (with love and care, of course; here I mean taking care for properly balanced lights and shadows above all, with no important details lost, because the photograph was taken in a room with poor light), made some minor corrections (color curves, desaturated, toned…) and added a frame with text. It was about being in the right place at the right time. I have to say, it was a truly moving moment. The child was wrapped to her mothers back and the group were Zulu’s sitting around one of the only trees we had passed for hundreds of miles. In the middle of the desert, a tribe of melodious Zulus appeared like a mirage.

This is my sisters new born, Evie. I took this the day she was released from hospital. At this point she is still 3 weeks premature, it took 2 weeks to release her from hospital, she had to learn how to suckle and has the cutest little wimper EVER… I love my niece and I’ll always be there for her. I would love to be able to take a photograph of how happy I am when I cuddle her, but I don’t believe that anyone, not even a professional could capture that emotion. Congratulations Jo and Mark.

Precious had been my child substitute for years before my daughter was born. When I first brought Melody home she didn’t have anything to do with her. Then she saw me nursing Melody. Something clicked then and from then on, I think Precious thought Melody was her little sister. If Melody even whimpered Precious would come running, calling for me to take care of the baby.Here Melody is lying in the middle of my parents’big bed while precious watches over her.
