  • Emotive piece of art drawn in Graphite Pencil…L K Southward- Iconic Art UK Nominated for ‘Pay it Forward’ by Andy Mueller IPA “I have so many favorite works of art on the bubble that it is tough to narrow it down to just one. But every time I see this one, I know it is the one piece that triggers the most emotion out of me. So, I’d love to submit my Pay It Forward to a wonderful British Artist L K Southward and her graphite pencil drawing called “This is your son”. Every time I see this drawing, I have tears welling up in my eyes. It is such a strong piece of work, and she clearly is a very talented artist.” Featured in the group THE EEG on 9th May 2009 Featured in the War – lest we forget group for the 141st Memorial Day (1868-2009) Featured in the Pencil Drawing group on 13th September 2009 Original drawing sold on 29th April 2009

  • Featured in Children the Power of Raw Emotion – August 09 – Thank you!! Featured in All About Hearts – July 09 – A very big thank you to the hosts! Featured in Canon DSLR – June 09 – thank you so much!! Featured in The Woman Photographer – June 09 – thank you very much to the hosts! This portrait of Mila (2) was taken in the back garden. Her older sister, Perrin, ran around behind her holding a black cloth to act as a ‘backdrop’ for me. In true 2 year old style, she decided today was the day that she would NOT smile, and as for looking at the camera… you can forget it. Keeping still was also not an option. So this is the end result of a frustrating shoot, but maybe the more interesting for it. Canon 400D, natural light, pp in photoshop CS2.

  • This is a beautiful image of my new grandson with his dad. It is such a beautiful look in the eyes of an overwhelmed father. Baby Johnny was one week old in this shot. i took this photo for a photo competition over here in Perth. Just to be different I decided to do it in selective colouring. Taken with my Canon 40DSLR using a 27-85 mm lens and using a lighting umbrella and spotlight. I have given it the selective treatment in photoshop. I made a duplicate layer, then converted the layer to b&W. I then used the eraser to rub out what I wanted to be coloured, this allowed the original colour to come through, then merged the layers together. / Thanks for visiting

  • This is the first in a series of portraits I am putting together combining graphite with a hint of colour. 12×16xcm and the delightful photo of Pippa was kindly provided by Andrea on Pencil Painting Network.
