  • Santa’s recruiting Detail / This piece was nominated by Ronnileigh to be showcased in Pay It Forward. Ronnileigh said: / The first time I seen “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” I fell in love with it. I can feel the emotion of the children, it tugged at my heart. The terror and tears just melted my heart. It looked to me the baby had cried itself to sleep from exhaustion. Then you have Santa looking mean and about to find them. This piece is so life like. Thank you so much, Ronnileigh, It’s a great honour to have my image chosen as your favourite work on RB.

  • This is a baby red crab from Christmas Island, sitting on a rock at dawn. The crab had just emerged from the ocean where he/she hatched from his/her egg. The babies are less than 3mm wide and long, and are almost transparent. They leave the ocean en-masse and make their way into the jungle. Unfortunately the en-mass ocean departure only happens every 1-2 in 10 years, so instead of getting shots of millions of tiny red crabs, instead i took portrait pics of them with my 105mm macro lens. They were soooo tiny and had the exact same mannerisms as their larger red crab relations. They were some of the cutest creatures i have ever had the joy to see! The red crabs of Christmas Island are famous for their annual migration to the ocean to mate and spawn. Exactly one month later, the baby crabs emerge from the ocean. Many natural factors have to align for the migration to commence, such as the stage of the moon, recent rainfall, etc. The whole cycle is a miracle of nature. Taken with a Canon 5D Camera, 105mm Sigma lens, at f2.8, ISO 320, 1/1000th sec, handheld. As is. Featured in the following groups: A Photographers Craft, Minatures & Mammoths, & Image Writing.

  • / original drawing on A3 acid free cartridge paper A drawing which has been digitally coloured, in which a little friend of the forest is overwhelmly touched by the beauty of a particular very old and majestic tree. She spontaneously expresses her love and gratitude with a symbolic hug, revealing her love for her surrounds during a moonlit walk. Just the thing for friends, children, nursery, birthdays, special occasions and something a little different perhaps for an unusual Christmas card.

  • / / Original pencil drawing on Aquarelle Arches paper 56×76cm / Drawing 15 hours/painting 12 hours = 27 hours total A digitally painted hand drawn artwork… the inspiration for this is “Meeting Places”... As a child one of the most frequent things we did together as a family was to attend church on Sundays, I went to a Catholic School and the church I remember best was St Agnes’ at Port Macquarie… the nuns would come over for morning tea sometimes, and the priests would come for dinner occasionally…they were the days of fun parish picnics and life that wasn’t so hurried..when we took time to socialise, meeting and enjoying one another’s company. Mum was/is a great cook and host…and although this picture isn’t authentic as a portrait of her and myself…it’s representative. It’s also representative of new life and hope for the future, as the mother figure is with child….. and the child herself nurtures the wildlife…perhaps she is taking them to church for a blessing… perhaps the joey has lost his mother and needs nursing til he can fend for himself. The kookaburra is all seeing and all knowing….. the wise overseer of the bush… in this case, he stands in as the owl figure.

  • A family of elephants make their way home after a day at the watering hole.
