Ayers Rock (Uluru) by Moonlight 2
Moon rising over Uluru in the early evening. The foreground has been lit with fill flash to add a sense of depth.
Uluru is an amazing place, filled with rich vibrant colour and steeped in tradition and story time. I took this photo on my last trip to Uluru. The sunrise had just finished and the tourist buses were beginning to leave. This gave me a great opportunity to capture the rich colour at this time of day but without the crowds. To add another element to the composition I decided to include the Kangaroo Road Sign. / / Photo Taken: 29-Nov-2005 / Time: Early, 7:30am / Conditions: Beautiful clear morning / / / / / / / / / / Some other Australian Red Centre art: / / / /

The rock is sacred to the local Anunga Aborigines. Ayers Rock is the popular English designation (named after Sir Henry Ayers, a 19th century Australian governor). However, the rock’s official appellation is Uluru, the one given by the Anunga Aborigines. dinner out in the desert, watching the full moon rise Digital photography / Composition of three images
Arguably Australia’s most photographed natural icon. I try to resist taking too many photographs of this beautiful rock, but as I drive past it every day of my life, sometimes the temptation is too strong to ignore. Uluru, 2005. [Creative Effects: NONE]
Earth Shadow at Uluru. / © Ern Mainka As twilight deepens a dark band rises upwards from the horizon, The band is the shadow of the Earth on the atmosphere. Immediately above, where the evening air is still lit, glows a pink band called the anti-twilight arch or “Belt of Venus”. The pink arises from scattered and deeply reddened sunlight mingling with the deep blues of the eastern sky.
Twilight is a beautiful time of day at Uluru.
Taken in Central Australia. This is Uluru, I took this with my old Canon film camera a while back and converted it to sepia using Ulead 13 software, I’m not sure of the result so I thought I’d leave it to the judgement of the good people of RB to offer their opinions. Thanks in advance guys. See my video on YouTube

For an online painting-challenge, we where asked to make an image that would represent Australia! / It interested me, but did not know exactly how I would do it! / I ended up on the site of a couple of Globetrotters! http://www.bourlingueurs.com/ / I scrutinized their photos and found 2 who appealed me very much! / One of Ayers Rock , and one of a crashed car in the middle of the dessert! / I melted them together to one photo! / Mark warned me that I painted “Kata Tjuta” instead of “Ayers Rock”! The representation of this mountain and that derelict car described in my mind how I see Australia! / Beautiful nature and heritage nurtured by the Aboriginals, and the car representing the pioneers, adventurers and technology trying to find its place in that great big continent! It’s a watercolor-painting / 30cm x 21cm / 300g

I visited Uluru/Ayers Rock in January 2008. It was summertime there, and it was incredibly hot (it was 42C at 3.00 am!!) but also incredibly interesting. When I took this photo I was on an aboriginal tour, which I really enjoyed and highly recommend to anyone who travels there. Beautiful landscape, colors and people. Taken at Uluru
The hauntingly beautiful Uluru (Ayers Rock) in Central Australia. I wanted to portray the ‘rock’ in a different light (so to speak) and converting the image to B & W I started playing with various artistic filters and texture overlays. Thanks for looking :) /
Some of my favourite images of Central Australia, including Uluru, Kata Tjuta and the red sand landscape of my favourite corner of the Northern Territory.
