This shot was taken last holiday season on a night when my wife and I originally set out to look for Christmas farolito shots. We found our route blocked for a Christmas parade and wound up on a side street just off Central Avenue in Albuquerque’s Nob Hill section. Happily, there was this beautiful green door, shining like a beacon. It turned out to be the best shot of the night and one of my favorite night shots ever. Pentax K20D, 3 seconds @ F3.5 with.5 AV compensation, 18mm.

One from the archives…taken 2 years ago in Venice. I don’t normally post travel photos, but this one has been one of my personal faves. Not a HDR shot, just a bit of saturation work in Photoshop. (Please view larger.)
