I took this picture in my front yard to finish off a film and to my great surprise I loved the result. It is of a Soft tree fern, Dicksonia antarctica. 2009 Oscar Winner Kate Winslet!! I am so happy for her that she won finally!! I just love her as an actress and a person. This was taken at the infamous Vanity Fair party (on the Sunset Strip) that I have attended since I was in my teens. The location was a new one this year as Morton’s closed down last year. The spot was pretty good, as I worried. I got some great shot of Oscar winners! Shot with Canon 40D. 70-200 L series Lens, 430 EX flash.

Painting on full sheet of watercolour paper, it won a prize in a big art show. This painting also sold. I had a student who tried to copy it. But the good thing about watercolours is ( even I could not paint it again) They are original and happy accidents happen.
