One of my favorite photos so far. Hope you like it.
... try saying that after a few drinks….. ;o) Two Mute Swan Cygnets (cygnus olor) snapped today at Abbotsbury Swannery in Dorset. Canon EOS 50D with Canon EF 70-200 L f/4

Juvenile Snowy Owl (bubo scandiacus) stretches his wings preparing for take-off!!! Yours truly wasn’t using a lens which was wide enough for his wingspan but I’m still glad I went for the shot anyway. Canon EOS 50D with Canon EF 70-200mm IS f/4 L
Mother Zebra finch with large chick.
Barn Owl at Liberty’s Raptor and Reptile Centre, Ringwood, Hampshire. Canon EOS 50D with Canon EF 70-200mm L IS f/4 and flash
I’m not really sure what this Ural Owl (strix uralensis) had been up to, but he sure looks like he could do with a hairdryer. Hawk Conservancy, Andover, Hampshire. Canon EOS 50D with Canon EF 400mm F/4 L
Ain’t love wonderful????!!! ;o)
Mute Swan
Mute Swan Cygnet, apparently so tired out after a morning’s swimming that he could kip anywhere! ;o) /
This aptly named Little Owl (athene noctua) may be a pocket-sized featherball but he looks like he doesn’t take prisoners! He did a great flying display for the spectators and apparently isn’t particular if he knocks your eye out while doing so! That’s my boy! ;o) Hawk Conservancy, Andover, Hampshire. Canon EOS 5D Mk II with Canon EF 400mm f/5.6 L
Well you have to admit this guy’s footwear matches his feathery coat. This is a juvenile Snowy Owl (Bubo scandiacus). When he is mature, he will have almost pure white plumage. Female Snowys have black bars (so this fella must be feeling a bit of a pansy at the moment!) ;o) Birdworld, Farnham, England Canon EOS 50D with Canon EF 70-200mm L IS f/4 handheld
We got a real treat when we visited Arundel Wetlands yesterday! Not only ducklings, goslings, moorhen and coot chicks, but cutie pheasant chicks like this one!!! Altogether…..... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ;o))) Canon EOS 5D Mk II with Canon EF 70-200mm IS f/4 L
.... seems like we Brits are undergoing Robin-fever at the moment, and why not! Lets all celebrate our national favourite bird!!! Small is beautiful!!! Background removed. Canon EOS 50D with Canon EF 400mm L f/5.6 handheld.
European Robin (erithacus rubecula ) collecting his take-away lunch from the bird table. Canon EOS 50D with Canon EF 400mm L f/5.6 / ISO 100 / 1/640 / f5.6

Señor Tuco is a Toucan who I met in Peru! It was love at first sight! Part of the reason for that was because on our first meeting, in our Hotel near Nazca, he flew into my eye! :o) Despite being a bit of a gannet (pardon the comparison) and begging for food at the breakfast table, Señor Tuco, as pictured here in what I think is a Pepper Tree, is a free spirit – a free bird! The fact that he lives in the barren coastal desert instead of the lush interior jungle, makes me think he may have fallen out of the nest and hit his head as a chick! :o)
