  • Señor Tuco
    by Krys Bailey

    US$4.84–US$129.20

Señor Tuco is a Toucan who I met in Peru! It was love at first sight! Part of the reason for that was because on our first meeting, in our Hotel near Nazca, he flew into my eye! :o) Despite being a bit of a gannet (pardon the comparison) and begging for food at the breakfast table, Señor Tuco, as pictured here in what I think is a Pepper Tree, is a free spirit – a free bird! The fact that he lives in the barren coastal desert instead of the lush interior jungle, makes me think he may have fallen out of the nest and hit his head as a chick! :o)

  • Southern Gannets Feeding
    by underdoc

    US$3.79–US$101.08

Southern Gannets in close to the rocks feeding on cuttlefish and squid. The image is a composite all shot within 30 minutes. It is an initial long exposure with a wide angle lens. The birds were then shot at the same location in the same session with a telephoto lens and “dropped in” during post processing.

  • Ugly Ducklings?
    by Krys Bailey

    US$4.84–US$129.20

If you remember the fairy tale… I still don’t see how these could be termed “ugly” even by duckling standards…... :o) Mute Swan Cygnets, Abbotsbury Swannery, Dorset, England.

  • Magnificent Crow
    by Carmen Mandel-Cesáreo

    US$14.96–US$79.80

“Often, the best opportunity comes unexpectedly. I was observing two pretty ponies and taking photographs on their sweet faces. Suddenly, several crows arrived and started to fly in circles. As one of them took a meal in the beak, the others started chasing her. / / Spontaneity is the key in portraying animated subjects at their best. I captured the expressiveness of this beautiful crow when she made a quick turn upwards spreading her magnificent wings against an overcast autumnal sky.” / / / (Location: Countryside in Lexington, MA, USA) / / Artist statement: My photographs are not enhanced; they represent the true nature and colours of the subjects as captured by the lens. I never lure my animated subjects to come close to me: spontaneity is the key. / / This is an original uncropped iamge. / / / / ================================================= / Proceeds from the sales of all my Crow images will be donated to Crows.net / / Crows.net / The Language and Culture of Crows A site for cooperative research on the language and culture of the American crow, Corvus brachyrhynchos. / / Facts about the American Crow (Corvus brachyrhynchos): / ..Crows are the most social and intelligent species of birds / ..Crows mate for life / ..The young stay with the family unit for up to five years and help the parents raise siblings / ..Crows show tool-making and tool-using behaviour / ..Crows are not a health threat / ..They will not attack you as portrayed in the movie The Birds / / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / / Carmen, creator of Art for Conservation / / / / /

  • The actual picture used in Ave Maria and Black Sabbath II, taken and processed to this point. I quite like it and thought it would be nice as an upload on its own.

  • Little Demon
    by Krys Bailey

    US$4.28–US$35.62

I finally managed to get this shot of one of our garden European Robins as he stopped by one of our feeders. Robins are so fast to and from the feeder that I’d all but given up! ;o) I think he’s saying “oh no, the old bat got me this time!” Still it is the least he can do for feeding him and his pals all year round. British Robins especially look awful cute, are very good at supervising the gardener, but can be territorial and stroppy little featherballs!

  • Ave Maria
    by oneillstudios

    US$3.42–US$91.20

Inspired by Disney’s Fantasia (1940 version). For the benefit of anyone who doesn’t know, the film ends with A Night on Bald Mountain and Ave Maria—essentially a forest scene to Schubert’s famous tune, where the trees take on the shapes of a church arched together like stained glass. Right at the end the camera moves through the forest in a brilliant 3d effect by means of a multiplane camera. Speculation is, Disney was working out his religious convictions in these two pieces. Outstanding stuff from Disney. In fact the whole movie is excellent fantasy. Recommended viewing for any artist into fantasy work.

  • aka Teensy’s cousin over the pond! This is a Great Tit chick, which by pure fluke I saw hopping around the tree outside my window, waiting for mum to return with some goodies. Looks like he needs a bath. Bailey’s Birdie Bistro does provide bathing as well as restaurant facilities for our wild birds and squirrels.

    by Krys Bailey

    US$4.84–US$129.20

... well Funny Duckling is how my husband described these critters that were waddling round the campsite in Tournai, Belgium. Actually its a Crested Call Duckling, unless I am mistaken. A lucky opportunistic shot of this cutie!
