  • This awesome winter sunset was photographed on Town Beach in Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia. I had been photographing the rocks at the south end of the beach where the light from the setting sun was painting its way across the seascape when I turned around to go back to my car and saw this. How could I resist? If you look closely at the bottom left corner there is the silhouette of an Oyster Catcher walking around the rocks. Fuji S9600: Manual settings of f/11 @ 1/125sec, Auto Focus, hand held. Find out more about Find out more about Port Macquarie beaches if you wish. Visit the Sunrise-Sunset collection in my BubbleSite Gallery for more end-of-day delights. UPDATE: / 01-11-08 / The photograph displayed now is a new version processed in Lightroom 1.1 & Photoshop CS3. • Those that own a Nintendo Wii will know how much fun there is trying to create your own Miis to look like famous people. The early Beatles, circa 1967/68 and the Sgt Pepper album seemed to lend themselves well to the Mii treatment, so Let Me Introduce You To, The act you’ve known for all these years…

  • Mixed media – archival black ink, acrylic, collage – paper painted, mono & screen-printed, drawing, photo; screen-printed cotton fabric, carpet material; on canvas. Work exhibited in the Visual Arts Association Group Exhibition ‘Four Seasons’, held Cairns Regional Gallery, Qld. / Theme – ‘The Four Seasons’ by Vivaldi Background: I had working individually on art compositions relative to my passion to interpret music, rhythm/movement and energy through the use of formal visual art elements ie. line, colour, tone, shape, texture and art media. The interpretation requires one’s senses to hear and feel, absorb sound and energies, to internalize and contemplate, as apposed to recording information seen/perceived through the eyes from the physical ‘outer’ world. One has to create and interpret a visionary abstract, from a pure transitional and spiritual sensual state, from one’s own internal environment, of knowledge, understanding and experience. I jumped at the chance when this exhibition theme came up. Also I am much inspired by Kandinsky and his work, a long time favourite art philosopher and mentor. ....................................... /

  • Sincerity can be defined as “freedom from deceit or hypocrisy”. “S I N C E R I T Y” appeared as the Avatar for the group “African Art & Writings”. / This image has been featured by the group “Endangered Species” 6/08. / This image has been featured by the group “Exotic Mammals” 5/08. / Award Leopards are classified in the phylum Chordata, subphylum Vertebrata, class Mammalia, order Carnivora, family Felidae. The leopard is a large carnivore of the cat family, Panthera pardus, widely distributed in Africa and Asia. It is commonly yellow, buff, or gray, patterned with black spots and rings. The rings, unlike those of the New World jaguar, never have spots inside them. Black leopards are commonly called panthers, a name sometimes used for all leopards. They are not a distinct species but merely a color variant caused by melanism, or excessive pigmentation. Close inspection reveals the typical spotting, which is obscured by the darkness of the background. Leopards are somewhat smaller than lions and tigers; the largest males are about 7 ft (2.3 m) long, including the 3-ft (90-cm) tail. Leopards are solitary, largely nocturnal, and good climbers; they hunt both on the ground and in trees. They prey mostly on small animals such as monkeys, rodents, and birds. Leopards are found in much of Africa south of the Sahara and in parts of Asia from Israel to Korea and Indonesia. They are listed as threatened or endangered throughout their range, owing primarily to loss of their natural habitat and to illegal killing for Oriental folk medicine. I have been photographing this particular grouping for several days now to record the deterioration and take over of the slime. / I finally felt bad and ‘rescued’ 4 off this patch….....the stem was only infected on one and that was easily cut off. / Soaked them in hot salty water then rinsed in cold….....diced up and then sauteed in salt-free butter (already salty from the soaking). / They’ll be added to a rice dish tomorrow with some wild onions, goat milk, ground almonds, and parmesean cheese. / <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> / Thank you everyone so much for viewing, favoring, commenting! • This is my entry for the Drawing Day Warm Up Exercise Challenge over at Drawing Day I decided in the spirit of drawing day I’d forgo my usual technique and have a bit of a play in painter. It was very interesting, you could almost feel the paint covering the canvas, and with the wacom tablet it was dead easy to use. If you’re interested in seeing the sketch I started with I’ve posted it on my blog over here Otherwise, I hope you’ll join the Drawing Day group and get your Draw on on Saturday :)
