This is the same road as shown in “A Golden Day” but taken in late afternoon as opposed to morning, and about a year later, October 12, 2008. This is also a bit earlier in the season than the previous scene, so the trees are much fuller. I used the Nikon D40x with the 18-135 lens and the polarizing filter. Blue Knob mountain, Pennsylvania. It was a grand forest morning yesterday. First the blue light of an early December morning, and then the morning sun kissing the forest awake again. Glenmore Reservoir, Calgary, Alberta, Canada This was one my very first photo’s I took. There were many things I had not yet picked up. I had the iso on auto, which I think for this photo was about 400 – 800. This led to much of the noise in the sky. I had the aperture set at f22, which at the time I thought was best to bring more of the photo in focus but I later found it can soften the overall image. I also did not own a tripod so I had to balance the camera on some rocks which made composing the scene much harder then normal and led to a small amount of camera shake. In the end though this became the first photo I had taken that I was truly proud of and solidified my passion for photography.
