Somersby Falls is located near Gosford. Along the old stretch of old Princess Hwy. I can say that we were the first to get there today. Arrived at around 7:30am. We parked the car and headed straight down to the falls. I didn’t expect much from it. But to my surprise, the falls have to out to be one of the best that I have ever visited in Sydney. So many area to explore. This was taken on what could possibly be the last set of falls. We didn’t go any further. It wasn’t a hard walk, but you do need a bit of balance to move among the trees and rocks. There will be another trip….who’s up for it? Pack light, take only 1 lens….and good walking shoes. One of the hundreds of discarded millstones at Bole Hill Quarry in the Peak District in Derbyshire, England. In my opinion, these make fantastic subjects – particularly in the autumn with the contrasts between the green of the moss and the orange of the leaves. A proper symbol of the Peak District National Park
The early morning colors that can be found at Sunrise Point in Bryce Canyon are like nowhere else on earth. When the sun comes up over the horizon the thousands of remarkable hoodoo formations deep within the canyon are set on fire. This image was captured on a very clear and sub-freezing fall October morning and the colors that day certainly did not disappoint. All content & images © Stephen Vecchiotti. We don’t get the number of Autumn colors, here in Montana, as the eastern states, but we still have our Fall glory. This photo was taken at Avalanche Creek in Glacier National Park. The background is limestone, which is so bright it looked like a fresh snow dusting the rock. The waterline is so low this time of year that we are looking at the creekbed. What is left of the creek is in the lower lefthand portion of the picture.

It includes the southern portion of the region known as Kennemerland. The park was established in 1995. South Kennemerland is characterized by sand dunes. The park, about 38 square kilometers (15 sq mi) in size, also includes some estates, forests on the dune fringes, and coastal beaches. Most of the area in the dunes is used as a watershed for the city of Haarlem, but there is a small public swimming area open in the summer at a location called the Wed, on the road between Bloemendaal and Zandvoort. The train from Zandvoort to Amsterdam travels through the park. Autumn Delight / Dutch Roots / Erasmus Bridge /

The Pantheon In Autumn, Stourhead Gardens, Wiltshire Stourhead Gardens was the creation of Henry Hoare in the 1740s. The River Stour was dammed to form a great lake, and around it Hoare laid out a landscape garden “to entrance his guests with stunning views and pacify them with serene walking pleasure”. As the garden developed, classical features, such as the Temple of Apollo, the Gothic Cottage and the Pantheon (shown here) were added. Over 250 years later, the gardens (now in the hands of the National Trust) are as beautiful as ever and are open to visitors all year round. October is a particularly popular time to visit because of the rich and varied autumnal colours. Date: 25th October 2009
