  • “Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.“ John Muir Photo taken at Groton State Forest, Vermont, October 2008. Owl’s Head Trail.

  • Autumn Travels Shot in Alluvial Fan area of Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado What a scene that just glowed…and I mean GLOWED. It made your jaw just drop open. I am fortunate in that no one else was there, and was lucky to be able to take about 100 shots of this scene alone, playing with composition and such, and custom white balance settings, and in this one, something similar to a sunset setting was used. Let me know what ya think! Can ya hear the rustling of the leaves?? / —-John

  • MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD / Best viewed large. / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group COUNTRY ROADS/AROUND THE WORLD / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group NATURAL COLOR AND LIGHT / / / This is a recent photo of my favorite country road! It is located in Flatwoods, Kentucky, in Greenup County, which lies in the northeastern part of the bluegrass state. Many of my relatives live in or just outside of Flatwoods, and my Dad built this one. / / The scenery from this road is almost surreal, it is so beautiful. Surrounding this road are country farms, barns and old churches. This road winds around a gorgeous mountain cloaked with a variety of lush trees and evergreens, whose leaves are radiant in the Fall of the year with brilliant shades of yellow, orange, red, brown and green. / / At the top of the mountain is the end of this magnificent road, which leads to a private, gated mansion that overlooks the entire county. It is very quiet and peaceful there, and everything, including time, seems to stand still on this beautiful road. It is a breath-taking view from the very top, and this is truly my favorite country road!.. / / / To read and learn more about this special country road, / go to:COUNTRY ROAD

  • The clouds stroke the peaks ot the Teton Mountains with marvelous color on a cold autumn morning in October. Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. Nikon, D300, 18mm f2.8 @ f18 2 second exposure.

  • Autumn comes to the Grand Tetons. My son, Sean, and I were traveling north on 9-27-2007 and arrived here at just the right moment. There were a ton of photographers here, as usual. I took a ton of pictures and got this shot after a tripod guy got out of the way. Taken hand-held with my Canon EOS-1D Mark III camera and Canon EF—24-105 L IS lens.

  • The beautifull Buachaille Etive Mor in the Glencoe mountain range , Scotland. Photographed with some fine friends and fellow photographers on an ePHOTOzine members meet last saturday (7th Nov) . We got up at 4am to drive the 2 hours from Pitlochry to Glencoe for sunrise. When we arrived it was cold, grey and raining and you coulden’t even see the mountain the fog was so bad. We persisted though and were rewarded with some nice early morning light :) It’s taken numerous trips over 5 years to get a decent pic of this spot, one of my favourite in Scotland. Hope you enjoy it :) canon 400D , sigma 10-20mm Lee filters. iso 100 F16 Raw

  • Another first for me, been wanting to get a decent pic of this awsome valley with a wide angle lens for a long time. The brooding valley of Glencoe and it’s three sisters, Highlands of Scotland. Famous for the Masacre of the McDonalds in 1692: “The Massacre of Glencoe occurred in Glen Coe, Scotland, in the early morning of 13 February 1692, during the era of the “Glorious Revolution” and Jacobitism. In Gaelic, the event is named ‘Mort Ghlinne Comhann’ (murder of Glen Coe). The massacre began simultaneously in three settlements along the glen—Invercoe, Inverrigan, and Achnacon—although the killing took place all over the glen as fleeing MacDonalds were pursued. Thirty-eight MacDonalds from the Clan MacDonald of Glencoe were killed by the guests who had accepted their hospitality, on the grounds that the MacDonalds had not been prompt in pledging allegiance to the new monarchs, Mary II and William II. Another forty women and children died of exposure after their homes were burned.” canon 400D , sigma 10-20 with Lee filters. F16 @ iso100
