So much beauty can still be found in a flower that is starting to fade. This black eyed susan immediately caught my eye with all the wonderful autumn colors in its wilting petals. Photo taken in my garden – Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. Note: Background was not digitally changed to black – that is the way the photo was taken :) FLORAL GALLERY / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST /

I’ve entered the word of layering images and it is SO MUCH FUN! After my first week of practice this is the first creation I felt was worthy of upload to RB. This work of art includes the combination of 2 images – a monarch butterfly, and a black-eyed susan. I enhanced the colors in 3 sections of the monarch’s wing to tie the colors in the composition together and purposely made the butterfly smaller than life. I have entered an entirely new world here and am excited at the possibilities that lie ahead as I search through my extensive collection of images for future works :o) / / Original floral image. / / FLORAL GALLERY / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST

costume pearls, cut out print of drawing, print, wrapped and archival glued – on 1” thick plywood Last year I participated in a local benefit exhibition where the artists are given 12×12” blank plywood boards and we can embellish them as we desire. I wrapped a portion of one of my prints of my drawing Autumn’s Child/Mon Ange on the board, cut out another one of it to create the “mask” of her – and added fake pearls to looks as if the drawing was popping out of itself and to tie all the elements together. (I was so lucky to go to my magic drawer and discover this long strand in there that were the exact diameter of the drawing’s. They are costume and come from sewing items that were my Grandmother Alvina’s.) Here is a shot taken of it laying flat: / >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Here is what the image looks like on RedBubble products:

I won’t even begin to say how many times I rearranged this piece, getting everything just right. / This was made using the tutorial I created, with a massive overhaul, i switched orbit traps, to orbit traps gradient. For me Autumn meant, going to Central Oregon, and being with my Grandmother. Her house decked out in all the fall colors, and bouquets, the smell of cinnamon, and cooking food. Her laughter, and jokes swirling about the house, the family bustling to prepare the food, while my grandfather sipped scotch and told stories to all of us. Their both long gone now.And now I don’t have much of a family, but I always have the memories, of the warmth, laughter, and togetherness, that is the Autumn Holiday Season. The spheres: My Grandmother’s Collection of crystal balls, and the love she had for all of us. The pads represent my grandfather, holding us all together, and the falling leaves, and flowers are the bouquets all over the house.
