Great for those that love the country
This is quite an old picture, but it is a personal favourite of mine. I took it a couple of years ago with a little digital compact and despite many attempts to recreate this scene using the SLR I still haven’t got a shot as good as this. :) / Captured just up the lane from my house near Selby

The fields are ripe for harvesting, all around the abandoned farmhouse. This sprawling farmland photograph was captured in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, just east of Clarkstown. I was standing at the junction of Upper Bartlow Road and Ridge Lane. This photo was taken on September 17th, 2009 with a Canon EOS 10D DSLR camera through a Canon EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L telephoto zoom lens @ 63mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1/250th sec at f/8. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a remote shutter release. Your comments are always welcome! If you build it, they will come…and kill you in your sleep…if you’re lucky. ‘Tis the season for the scary, and I am in a dark, fell mood. All my own photos and texture used.

This old farmhouse still stands the middle of a farmer’s field, but it is obvious that nobody has lived here for many, many years. The house is totally cut off from the nearest road, with not as much as a pathway to approach it. I often find myself trying to envision all of the people who had known this farmhouse as their family’s home. There must be some very interesting history behind this mysterious old place. This photo was taken with a Canon EOS 10D DSLR camera through a Canon EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L telephoto zoom lens @ 350mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1/60th sec at f/8.
