This is actually the same lane as on the shot of the couple walking towards the light which I submitted yesterday. The fascinating thing about it is that this shot was taken just a fortnight earlier. For those of you who do not know the laws of mother Nature in our autumn, this change from these trees full of colourful autumn leaves to trees with just a few leaves left is the rule here. In early November autumn presents itself in all its beauty, then the autumnal storms start, and there it is all gone within days. This November autumn confirmed this pattern completely. Near Maartensdijk, 5th November 2007, 4.51 pm / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 130 mm / F 5,6, 1/10, ISO 800 Here the other shot:

I’ve photographed these trees today and HDR’d them but have not edited them in paintshop this time. / These are the same trees that I photographed last year called Enchanted! I would love to donate 100% of the sales of this work during the next 60 days to the Phoenix Appeal in support of the burning bushfires in Australia! My best regards to all who suport this wonderful effort!

Autumn in Hyde park, Sydney [canon 1000D, tamron 18-200mm lens] Featured – Just Brown – May 2009 / / /
Shot in the Lamar Valley, YELLOWSTONE National Park, USA. A lucky grab-shot. / I had spotted the Cottonwoods and wanted to capture the beautiful colours of Fall against the shadowy hill behind, then I saw the Male Bison emerge from the trees. He had a mission on his mind, a couple of females across the river, LOL !! (out of sight of this shot.) He was moving pretty quickly, and luckily I had my short telephoto lens already attached to the camera ! A magical moment and experience !! Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, set on Landscape mode, Aperture Priority, with polarising filter, hand-held, iso 200, f 6.7, 1/180 sec , underexposed by one stop because of the dark shadowy hill , Auto WB ( I mostly use this), lens was my Canon EF 75-300mm set at 200mm (don’t have this lens anymore) RAW file, processed in Adobe Camera Raw, then tweaked in PS CS3, with selective Levels/Curves, and selective colour adjustments. Picture was taken in the very mature and beautiful gardens of Ashford Castle, co. Mayo, Ireland. The gardens are rich with autumn colours at the moment. PP in PS and tweaked colours a bit.
November 2009 / October 2009 / Shot at Derwent Reservoir in the Peak District national park, Derbyshire. / Shot with a Nikon D300 and Sigma 10-20mm lens. / f 18 / 1/6 sec / ISO 200 /
This is Hubbards Hills in Louth, Lincolnshire showing all the colours of autumn. / Hubbard’s Hills is a glacial overspill channel formed as the last ice ended about 40,000 years ago. A marginal lake of meltwater trapped between glacial ice sheet and the Lincolnshire Wolds spilled over a chalk ridge and gouged a steep sided valley with a flat bottom. The river Lud, far too small to create such a valley, now flows / through it. Please visit me at my website / PaulThompsonPhotography / Canon 5D Mk2 / F16 / ISO 100
I’m going to unashamedly say that I am hugely proud of this piece. For a long time I just sat and looked at it after I finished it, not knowing exactly what to call it. It feels so very personal, so uniquely me, I considered things like “Beautiful Insanity”...along those lines. But, in the end “Where do I Begin?” came to mind and I went with it. All my own photos and textures used. FEATURED in All Original Blends and Friends of RedBubble
