Yes, this Sunday morning I went back to our forests here near Hilversum. It was no one of those spectacular mornings with a mixture of haze and sunshine, but a “normal” early autumn morning with just a little bit of sunshine. But it was good to be back in the forest on my bicycle again in the fresh autumn air. And this is a lovely road to go along, leading up to … Well, I shall tell you tomorrow where it led me. I took this picture in Pisgah National Forest, North Carolina, my favorite place in the world. The mist seemed to bring the colors to life. I added an Orton effect to this image to soften it and give it the dream-like quality that I sensed in the forest.

I wonder where this path leads? During a motorcycle trip to Georgia, I passed by this scene and just had to turn around. The ground fog was just wicked, it was shrouding this path which I presume belongs to a rural farm. Taken with the Nikon D300 and Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 lens. HDR processing and Orton effect applied, as well as some dodge & burn.

There are few places in Colorado that I love more than this one, and yes, it is a very iconic place, situated between Allenspark and Estes Park…and in Autumn it simply comes alive in ways I can not even begin to mention, the bushes turn a liquid gold in color, and everything resembles a painting….beauty in it’s most sincere form in Nature. I hope you all like it! / John /
