Silverton, near Broken Hill in far western NSW, Australia. (While you’re there, go to the pub with Mad Max’s car parked out front, go in, ask to do the Silverton Pub Challenge… don’t ask, and don’t tell!)
Even though the original 1937 Ford was a breakthrough design, with headlights streamlined into the fenders for the first time and the famed flathead V-8 giving ample performance by the standards of the day, initial sales were disappointing. Only later was it to become a favorite of generations of hot rodders and customizers. However, the first ones to tweak the ‘37 kept the bodywork bone-stock, because their livelihood depended on stealth and speed-–and room for a load of moonshine!
one of my talented students drawings, as photoshopped by me. (see that shadow! I did that!) as many boys in year five do, he loves to draw:cars and bikes. It may not be my drawing, but I had the vision of putting it on a t-shirt, changing it to suit, giving it air…making me the designer and collaborator. I love how this car has air-I imagine the inspiration it may give my very serious student Nathan, and hope it brings a smile to his face.
Tailfin of a ‘57 Chevy Bel Air. Ran it through Photoshop and changed the colors a bit.

Another full view of Whitey sitting in a yard in Germany.
Brilliant classic and personal photograph of one of my favourite subjects, classic cars.
Back in the days, this is what a parking lot might have looked like. I loved how these antique cars were all lined up, but wished the light colored Cadillac was not in the same row. Oh well.
An antique 1952 Chevy Deluxe. Note that this design is half-toned white on shirt color. View larger to see detail. (To the best I can determine this is a ‘52 Chevy Deluxe. If you can confirm or refute this, please leave a comment.) Also available: ‘52 Chevy Deluxe 2-Color

I don’t know what it is about old worn out things, but they just make me feel so hmmm comfortable would be a good word for it. They make me peaceful and calm, they tell me their story, they have the ability to capture a piece of time inside of them, they are just so much more than just old and useless to me. So I found a photo on the internet of this old Pontiac and it just said “PAINT ME”, so I did. I was a rough start, could not get into the feeling at first, so I let it rest for the night and this morning completed it. The 3d texture really brought out the rust on the car. So I hope you like it as much as I did making it ;-) Oh if you have by any change photo of these beautiful oldtimers or old motorcycles laying around, especially if they are old and rusty, please send me a copy if you like. I would be much obliged ;-) Also if you know some of these beauties in your surrounding laying around, could you make a photo for me. Where I live you will hardly ever find cars like these. Many thanks in advance. If you like you can send them to odwin@studioodwin.com Odwin
I have no idea what year this Ford car is, but I just fell in love with it. The colors, the flames, I’m not sure. Photo taken at the Cruzin’ with the Cops Car show in Oregon City, Oregon. I photographed this automobile at the Route 66 Rendevous in San Bernardino, California. Not knowing that much about cars, I named it Big Daddy. That’s what it looks like to me. lol. Poster edges filter added.
I imagine we ALL know someone who really NEEDS to WASH their car. This sighting made me laugh.
