I suppose you can say I have always been a sucker for old cars, especially Hotrods. There is something about the design and style of the years gone by, that todays designers in the automotive world have lost…the subtle curves of the body line, the way the trim fits along the body, and the overall composition and style….rolling sculpture. Elegance and style which is no longer created by the manufacturers but now recreated by those who spend many a late night out in the garage building a Kustom, wielding the torch, throwing the lead, and hammering the seams. Art it one of it’s most purest forms. Creativity personified. This is quite an older shot but remains one of my favorites, the color in this and the reflection caught my eye when I first captured it. I am not a huge fan of tri-year Chevy’s, but this ‘56 was just to good to pass up. Hope you all like it as much as I do / —-John / —-—-—-—-—-—-—— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. A one of a kind unique classic car, a 1951 Mercury Maher, named after the / collector who put this car together. This photo was once featured on a car collectors Christmas card.
all that remains of this once thriving outdoor movie theater is the sign…located along historic route 66 in southern illinois near edwardsville…
When Mercury made some of the badest cars around, when the lines were designed and Chrome reflected it’s wonderful colors. When Rock & Roll was just being born, and tailfins were the norm. Welcome to the Montclair Timewarp! HDR processed, selective vignetting, custom retro color curves, selective dodging and burning. All I can say is that I am ordering a 24×36 print for my wall! I love how this one came out! Thoughts welcomed!
A black and grey charger with skulls in the background and grunge design.
This is a combination of two images: the seascape was taken last year at Asilomar Beach, on the Monterey Peninsula, Ca. The 1950 Woody was taken last weekend 04/27/08 at the local Hot Orama, here in northern CA…. / / _ / All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission.
