Featured in Behind The Mask. / Featured in Digital Artists United. The background is made from photos I took flying (as the pilot) over the ocean north of Papua New Guinea and the “Channel Country” in the Australian Outback. Overlaid is a photo of a model I shot with one side light. Below is a photo of this work printed at 92 cm x 122 cm (36” x 48”) on foamcore and hanging in our lounge. Not sure if the colours below were super-saturated by the sunrise reflecting on that wall or what?! The proceeds of all sales go to World Vision, an organisation dedicated to looking after children in Third World countries. .... EXCEPT, while it still runs through Phoenix Appeal, these proceeds will go to the RED CROSS VICTORIAN BUSHFIRE APPEAL. Check out my web site for twisted IRONy metal sculpture.

“The day had been extremely hot as we ventured across our last leg of the desert. The camels had been well behaved for the most part. Besides the strong camel odour it had been a pleasant adventure. It was nearing the end of our last day as the wind picked up considerably. The distant horizon started to disappear with a threatening sandstorm approaching us from the west. We had to find shelter quickly or suffer the consequences”. Macro photograph taken from a rock. Late afternoon light with aperture priority setting!! Textures and patterns in rocks are one of my main passions!!
In NSW, the Beaded Gecko Diplodactylus damaeus is found across the western plains generally in mallee, or spinifex sandhill habitats. This individual was observed in the spinifex sandhills west of Lake Mungo, in south-western NSW. The Common Spadefoot Toad is found throughout the drier regions of western Victoria, New South Wales, southern Queensland, and pockets of South Australia in Australia. It is a burrowing frog and remains buried for much of its life, only becoming active after rains. This photo was taken after heavy rains about 60kms north of Cobar, where we were then subsequently stranded for two days! But, then the burrowing frogs started to ‘pop’ out of the ground, so it was very exciting! Click on ‘View Larger’ for better viewing. these small works on card are for friends going back overseas to live, to remind them of us here in oz. they were made small and light to fit easily into baggage, using typical Australian colours-the blue of the summer sky, to yellows of the sand and the oranges of the outback desert. (though I doubt they remind anyone of us of the outback-we never see that colour earth in the city!) more, it’s about the pace of life and vibrancy of living.
Australia’s Desert meets the Southern Ocean on the York Peninsula, South Australia AS IS

A classic Australian scene, depicting a deserted and decaying old wood and tinned roof shack, with the harsh but beautiful Australian bush as a backdrop. The third image in this series. This wonderful old shack is just outside of Melbourne, in the Kangaroo Grounds/Christmas Hills area. I’ve put directions on my Flickr stream if anyone is interested in checking the place out.
