  • This bromeliad (Aechmea fasciata ) has these gorgeous flower bracts which are obvious now. I was lucky with this one…a ray of sun was hitting the flower,so I only had to increase the shade around it a touch :)

  • This is where you begin to walk around Dove Lake at Cradle Mountain, in Tasmania, Australia. Cradle Mountain forms the northern end of the wild Cradle Mt – Lake St Clair National Park, itself a part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. A blue filter in PS was used to enhance the blueness. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera, in summer. This shot was featured in the Focus and Lighting Group.

  • Gutta and French Dyes on Silk. The Cooktown Orchid is the Floral Emblem for the State of Queensland in Australia. The Cooktown Orchid is an Australian Native Flower.

  • This adorable little Wallaby in Halls Gap was one thirsty little fellow on this hot day in January 2009. I looked down to see him drinking out of his water trough and saw the remarkable sun reflection and water ripple. I had my fingers crossed that the photo would turn out. I had my long lense on so was a little too close hence the slight blur. FEATURED in the Image Writing Group Jan 09 FEATURED in QUORN Group Jan 09. .

  • Rainbow Lorikeet. Rainbow Lorikeets are perhaps one of Australia’s most beautiful species of bird. With their brightly coloured feathers and loud, shrieking calls, they are hard to be missed. This one was extremely curious, and got quite close to the camera. Photo was taken in Tinonee, NSW. All profits from sales of this work will be donated to Wildlife-appeal.

  • I visited the Norman Lindsay Gallery yesterday & have come away feeling so inspired. / A beautiful gallery in the Blue mountains, where you can wander amongst the grounds, surrounded by Lindsay’s statues, sit in the gallery as you gaze in awe upon his paintings, or marvel at the detail in his etchings…... I won’t even mention his wonderful children’s stories or his model ships (just a hobby of his apparently)....... This Magnolia was blooming in the garden behind his studio. / Magnolias & Norman Lindsay….... my life is good…... [canon 1000D, tamron 18-200mm]
