From the Greek meaning ‘breath’, the word aura is mostly used in the metaphorical sense of someone having simply ‘an aura’ about him or, more vividly, one of ‘wisdom’, ‘saintliness’, or ‘evil’. My Gallery / Canon Rebel XT,18/55 lens, PS elements 6 / Featured in War Paint & The Beginners Corner /

Not only saints have auras and halos, mad people have their own version…you know.
When I start to create a digital abstract, I never really know what it’s going to end up like; sometimes something comes out of the background to overshadow what I’ve been preparing as the main focus of the piece. / / As in this image, when I realized that the backdrop was way more interesting than the design in front, / I was tempted to ditch the design and let the background stand on its own. But it looked more interesting with the design layer faded into near oblivion, giving the digital smoke something to react against. / / Was going to title the piece Digital Smoke, but thought that was somewhat unimaginative; I wanted to recognize a perceived aura of the aurora borealis. And I like alliteration. / / As always, I am ecstatic when a piece fits nicely onto a card with minimal cropping damage

Everything has an aura … a light body that surrounds it. In the distant past, people admired things they could not explain and called them “miracles”. Long ago, people were able to see Auras. Advanced spiritual people such as Buddha, Christ and their immediate students were painted with golden haloes around their heads, because some artists could actually see Auras. In Australia remote West Kimberleys you can find prehistoric cave paintings many thousands of years old, depicting people with golden halos. Nature gave us ALL we need to see Auras. All is required is the knowledge to use your senses together with your conscious effort.
Along the Sydney coast betwen Coogee and Maroubra there are rock pools and spirit places where an aura might be found
