The Ferry Building in Auckland city, New Zealand is one of the city’s greatest icons. This is a particularly nice view taken from a ferry groing back to Half Moon Bay (East Auckland suburbs).

This week there has a lot of thick oerhanging cloud. Days gray and harshly lit but for amoment in the morning as the sun reaches its fingers between layers of cloud. I took this on Sunday Morning. This is Shoal Bay, Auckland, looking towards Bayswater, behind which sits the triple cones of the symmetrical volcanic island Rangitoto.
