Ja 1267 locomotive at the Mainline Steam workshops. Ja 1267 was one of the 35 Ja models produced at NZ Railways Hillside Workshops between 1946 and 1956. Ja’s were the last steam locomotives built for NZ Railways and were the mainstay of the South Island railway system.
