nature inspires me wherever I go. It’s my life support! this is on the walk to the bus stop.
i was shooting macros of this lily when this butterfly landed on it :) shot this using a nikon diopter lens attached to a canon 75-300mm lens, if im not mistaken this is a great spangled frilitary
In Buddhism the origin of suffering is attachment to transient things and the ignorance thereof. Transient things do not only include the physical objects that surround us, but also ideas, and – in a greater sense – all objects of our perception. Ignorance is the lack of understanding of how our mind is attached to impermanent things.
siamese twins are probably one of the most beautiful/incredible/odd things to occur in nature.. so bittersweet.

Mother.Culture Page _Support in a mother’s immediate family is crucial to success. If one member is not on board the breastfeeding relationship becomes vulnerable. This portrait also touches on the “family bed”. Western Culture has told us that sleeping with our children is bad in every way. I challenge this way of thinking with depicting the family bed as a sanctuary, and to be reassessed by western culture.

this is a crocus that is growing in my yard right now, we have had some pretty warm temps for february around here and some of my crocus’ are blooming, this little flower only stands about 4 to 6 inches tall, i shot this macro literally laying on the ground to give an idea of just how tall it really is, i shot this using a nikon diopter lens attached to a canon 75-300mm lens, also..this is dedicated to Gisele since she is stuck with nothing but snow and needs a flower fix :) so Gisele this is for you
these small crocus are blooming right now in my yard, i shot this macro laying on ground to give an idea of just how tall they really are, im lucky enough to have four different colors growing in the same area :) / i shot this using a Nikon Diopter lens attached to a Canon 75-300mm lens
for some reason..this shot of the crocus that were growing in my yard last week, is one of my personal favs, something about it is so promising that this year we might just have a good spring / i shot this macro laying on ground (again) using a nikon diopter lens attached to a canon 75-300mm lens
this dwarfed sized lily only grows about 6-7 inches tall, it is native to the great smoky mountains, i had to lay on the ground shooting this macro in order to show the inside of it, shot this macro using a nikon diopter lens attached to a canon 75-300mm lens
laying on the ground shooting macros again, this large-flowered white trillium and large flower bellwort were growing side by side, and nope, the shot isnt upside down, the bellwort grows that way :) / shot this macro using a nikon diopter lens attached to a canon 75-300mm lens / thanks to tom biggs, and his buddy harold ross jr, for turning me on to this new location to shoot. this was in the smoky mountains on the north carolina side This shot won the April Photo contest held by the Knoxville News Sentinal newspaper in Knoxville Tn / Contest titled….Spring Scene Photo Contest 2009 :)
How can it be that we can say so much without words? Madness (from Complete Madness, 1982)
i finally got a chance this past weekend to go hit my favorite spot in cades cove, sparks lane. / while just walking down the road, some flowers were blooming, this particular bug was having a time on this one bloom. / after closer inspection of this insect, i thought it was too cool. its amazing what you see in the “little world” when shooting macros. you realize just how things so small have such a huge impact on the larger things. / I was worried i might chase this little guy off, it was eating and cleaning itself, with its “hands” that look like crab claws. / it actually reminded me of what we view as dinosaurs, with it’s hard shelled body and unique features / so who is to say dinosaurs are extinct? they still exist, it’s just they have adapted to modern day life, maybe something humans need to learn how to do? / best to view this larger / i shot this macro using a nikon diopter lens attached to a canon 75-300mm lens

So named because this is my violin and my son’s first violin. It tugs on my heart whenever I look at it. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / Taken with a Kodak DX6490 in manual mode. / F-stop, 4 / Shutter speed, 4 / Indirect lighting / Colour: sepia Post processing: / lightened the exposure to bring out the shadow ( a dear friend actually did that. This was a few months ago with my old camera, and less experience) I took 105 shots before I got the one I wanted, first going outside in colour, coming in, experimenting with the light. Learned a lot!
