I recently uploaded A Lover’s Sunset – Peggy’s Cove, NS and this shot was taken at the same time. The sky was so orange and so amazing that when Scott and I went around to water side we found the lighthouse bathed in an orangish glow….just gorgeous and this is my capture of it.

This shot of the sunset at Peggy’s Cove in Nova Scotia is exactly as is. It was a magical night and there seemed to be many sunsets happening in one night. The sky was constantly changing and it was a beautiful thing to witness. I already have two shots up from that night but I think this one is worth putting up too. And you never know, there could be others to follow! Maybe I’ll make a “Lighthouse Sunset” calendar. :)

July 20, 2008, at 4.00 in the afternoon. When you’re this close to the lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia, and this is as much as you can see, you are in an Atlantic pea soup fog. At the height of the tourist season, and nary a soul in sight. This sort of fog gradually saturates your clothing, it’s so close to being rain. So we all go indoors and have a great down-east seafood chowder or whatever. / Fuji S100fs camera.

This was one of the most spectacular sunsets we have witnessed in a long time and we were lucky enough to be at Peggy’s Cove in Nova Scotia, Canada when it occurred. Watch Hill Lighthouse, taken from East Beach, Watch Hill, Rhode Island Pentax K10D set to Bulb on a shutter release, SMC-DA* 16-50mm F/2.8 lens, 3 stop solid ND filter, tripod. 181s @ f/16, ISO100. This was a tough shot as there was almost no light left, although it doesn’t look it by the amount of light in the exposure. The long shutter allowed this to look this way, but at the end of the day the light is fading so fast, that the longer you leave the shutter open, the less light you get.

In the Acadien Peninsula area of New Brunswick, Canada, the Acadien flag ( the French flag with a yellow star) is omnipresent. It is on cars, flagpoles, and painted on power poles. Near Caraquet this lighthouse, a tourist centre, takes the colour scheme to its ultimate use…a whole building painted in the flag colours. / This photo was taken with my Canon XSi.

The St. Martins-Quaco Head lighthouse is an active aid in navigation of Atlantic Canada’s Bay of Fundy, which is home to the highest tides in the world. Woman plays an accordion while a man listen’s in, beside the Lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada. That’s the Atlantic Ocean in the background. Usually this spot is encased in fog, but it was my lucky day! The people were kooky, to say the least and added to the surrealism of the place. You could hardly hear the accordion due to the crashing waves all around just out of view of this shot.

West Dover is a little fishing village on the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia, Canada, about 25 miles south of Halifax, on the Chebucto Peninsula. It’s on Route 333 (The Lighthouse Route) which connects to Route 3 and follows the coast all the way to the southernmost end of the Province. West Dover is a very pretty place to spend some time and indulge in wonderful seafood as well as enjoy the scenery and the quiet beauty of the village and the coastline. If you’re visiting Halifax, it’s only a short drive and you can spend the day exploring all the other little places along the way.
