  • “I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now / From up and down, and still somehow / It’s cloud illusions I recall / I really don’t know clouds at all” Joni Mitchell – Both Sides Now Clouds fascinate me and they can make a simply scene spectacular. They often play a special role in my photography and are a key element in each of the photos in this calendar. The backdrop to the clouds featured in the cover picture Cloud Illusions” is the *Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa and not the sky! • Acclaimed as one of the world’s most scenic drives, the Cabot Trail winds though the northern highlands of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. From sea-level on the shores of the Atlantic and the Gulf of St. Lawrence, to breath-taking switch-backs over steep mountains, the Trail encloses Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Along the way you’ll encounter small towns and villages dating back to the 1700’s and even earlier. The Trail was named for John Cabot of Bristol, who landed either here or Newfoundland in 1497. Enjoy the friendliest of people, an amazing variety of crafts, music, seafood, trails, tours, golf, skiing and wildlife, or just come and relax in a most beautiful place. / All images are available separately from my site.
