A collage I created of some Newfoundland shots that I took. / PEOPLE
This is another image from the Peggy’s Cove collection. I’m hoping (probably in vain) that this perspective hasn’t been shot all that often as i don’t like repeating someone else’s work. I don’t recall seeing this small village portrayed this way but that could just be that I missed it. I really love how this shot turned out and I hope you do too!

I took this shot in one of the many outport communities along Newfoundland’s Avalon Penninsula. There were so many of these crabpots stacked along side many different sheds. / / / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography /
This is replacing a previous version I had uploaded. I applied a ND filter to it to make the fog thicker and sharpened it up a bit more.

I was returning from a day of Cod fishing off the Northeast Coast of Newfoundland when I passed by these Lobster Pots. They were stacked along the road, next to a small wharf in a very, very tiny fishing village. I thought the vibrant colors of the pots contrasted nicely with the gloomy, overcast day and the grey rocks.
A random drawing that a friend of mine wanted me to come up with… of course, with an example, but changed quite a bit, giving it my own style and color – edited with photoshop too as well. This would make a great T-shirt!

Port Isaac, Cornwall The centuries old village and harbour of Port Isaac is situated on the Atlantic coast, mid-way between Newquay and Bude, Cornwall, UK. From the Middle Ages until the 1850s, Port Isaac was a busy port, handling stone, coal, timber and pottery. With the advent of the railways, it became principally a fishing port. UK TV viewers will know it as the location for the classic period drama ‘Poldark’ and more recently for the drama/comedy series ‘Doc Martin’, starring Martin Clunes. Long before the pier was built in the 16th century, the village had a smuggling past and was associated with a gentleman(!) by the name of Cruel Copinger! This shot was taken 22 years ago on Fujichrome slide film, and recently scanned using a Plustek OpticFilm 7200. Since being chosen as the Devon and Cornwall group avatar, this has become my most viewed shot on this site with over 700 views to date and it looks great as a laminated print … or even framed … Date: 13th July 1987
This was taken on a very foggy day at Long Cove near West Pennant, Nova Scotia, Canada. / / It was named “Cat Fish Blues” because it looks like the boat had jumped out of the water, and because of the feeling of sadness or loneliness it invoked in me. / / Subscribe to art updates / Subscribe to T-shirt updates / Become a fan on FaceBook / Add me as a friend on FaceBook / Follow me on Twitter This is a new version of an old image. The old version had a lot of post production that may have been too much. I liked the look of it when it is small, but looking back and seeing it enlarged I prefer the more subtle treatment on this version. / / Cat Fish Blues II is available in all print formats offered by RedBubble. / /

“Floating on Clouds” was shot in Goulds Newfoundland Canada. This is The Dory in natural light. I was talking to a friend about shooting “The Dory” and “Floating on Clouds” and how I used a polarizer to bring out the clouds on the water (as seen here) and removed it and used a flash to shoot “The Dory”. I was wondering in hindsight what I would have come up with if I had used the polarizer and flash at the same time. I know I would have given up about up to two stops with the filter which would have meant a slower shutter speed and the boat was moving, ever so slightly, so it may not have worked out? But maybe next time, live and learn!
