One little boat and horizons and destinations unknown stretched out before you. This photo features a photograph taken at Celestun, a lonely but gorgeous little beach in the Yucatan state of Mexico. The white sand beach fades to clear gulf waters and beautiful blue sky touched with clouds.

Water spout in the Florida Keys
I was camping along the shores of this pond and on this particular afternoon the fog began rolling in thick and heavy from the opposite shore. The only thing left with a hint of color was this buoy everything else was greyed out and blah. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

This yellow dory was tied to the wharf for the winter. The boat launch had quite a steep angle to it… you can see the ocean far below, so the dory was secured with these blue ropes.I loved the contrast between the yellow boat and the blue ropes holding it securely. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / laminated print / /
This is a shot of a small coastal community called Tors Cove. The water was so clear and the colors were incredible. I spent awhile here just photographing everything I could see lol. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /
Outhouse at Fisherman’s Cove, NS, Canada
The Icelandic Harvester. / / When I came across this old vessel moored to the pier my imagination started running wild with scenarios of what life aboard this wooden vessel would have been like. I could almost feel the sineous texture of the ropes as they hung there coated in the ice cold saltwater of the frigid North Atlantic Ocean. I could nearly hear the calls of the sailors as they shouted commands back and forth across her weather beaten decks as the waves crashed down upon her on any one of her numerous voyages. What sights must have been seen as sailors of old lined the rails to peer down at the mysteries of the sea. How many men were lost at sea and how many made it home with wild stories of his adventure aboard the Icelandic Harvester. / / Shot with a Canon 400D and processed in Lightroom 2. / / NautilusBlue / / nominated this image to be showcased in the group Pay It Forward and this is what she had to say… / / Ice Breaker / by Kevin Kroeker / I think it is an outstanding image with great composition ( great leading lines) with lots of drama and the colours are amazing . It shows us the harshness of the climate. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography /
I was returning from a day of Cod fishing off the Northeast Coast of Newfoundland when I passed by these Lobster Pots. They were stacked along the road, next to a small wharf in a very, very tiny fishing village. I thought the vibrant colors of the pots contrasted nicely with the gloomy, overcast day and the grey rocks.

Wind Dancer- a poem by Miss Jordan 9 years old Out there on the deep blue sea / Not far from the island of Anglessey / In the fog shrouding the boat / Wind Dancer sails gracefully afloat The coast is not very far away / Soon she will dock in the bay / Out there sails the Wind Dancer / The mighty boat, the wave prancer

Sennen Cove near Lands End Cornwall with a storm approaching. Re-edited and reposted.
This was taken on a very foggy day at Long Cove near West Pennant, Nova Scotia, Canada. / / It was named “Cat Fish Blues” because it looks like the boat had jumped out of the water, and because of the feeling of sadness or loneliness it invoked in me. / / Subscribe to art updates / Subscribe to T-shirt updates / Become a fan on FaceBook / Add me as a friend on FaceBook / Follow me on Twitter This is a new version of an old image. The old version had a lot of post production that may have been too much. I liked the look of it when it is small, but looking back and seeing it enlarged I prefer the more subtle treatment on this version. / / Cat Fish Blues II is available in all print formats offered by RedBubble. / /

“Floating on Clouds” was shot in Goulds Newfoundland Canada. This is The Dory in natural light. I was talking to a friend about shooting “The Dory” and “Floating on Clouds” and how I used a polarizer to bring out the clouds on the water (as seen here) and removed it and used a flash to shoot “The Dory”. I was wondering in hindsight what I would have come up with if I had used the polarizer and flash at the same time. I know I would have given up about up to two stops with the filter which would have meant a slower shutter speed and the boat was moving, ever so slightly, so it may not have worked out? But maybe next time, live and learn!
