Marathon Key, Florida USA LARGE VIEW is much better! A Sunset; by request! The Seven-Mile Bridge is located at mile markers 40-47 in the Florida Keys. Although this isn’t a traditional attraction, it’s the only way you’re going to get to Key West, and it’s also one of the wonders of Florida! While it falls a bit short of seven miles, this amazing span bridges the Middle and Lower Keys and has nearly 40 expansion joints. As you cross, with the Gulf of Mexico on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other, you can see the Old Seven Mile Bridge, now on the National Register of Historic Places. This was shot at the WEST end. / ____ / / / _______ / All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission. This was a case of right place at the right time. This picture doesn’t actually do the sunset justice. It had to be seen to be believed, and of course, I was with my cousin and not my Fiance!

I took this shot on Bell Island, if you look closely at the base of the cliff you can see a natural tunnel that has been bored through the rock by the water and out to the other side. The bravest and most daring of kayakers venture into these tunnels to explore. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / /

This yellow dory was tied to the wharf for the winter. The boat launch had quite a steep angle to it… you can see the ocean far below, so the dory was secured with these blue ropes.I loved the contrast between the yellow boat and the blue ropes holding it securely. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

A morbid history of St. John’s… the hill in the background is known as Gibbets Hil, it is where all the criminals were hung in public executions. The body of water at the base of the hill is where the executioner would throw the bodies when they were dead. The pond is known as “Dead Man’s Pond”. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

One little boat and horizons and destinations unknown stretched out before you. This photo features a photograph taken at Celestun, a lonely but gorgeous little beach in the Yucatan state of Mexico. The white sand beach fades to clear gulf waters and beautiful blue sky touched with clouds. More From Mexico

/ These two photos I had taken several months ago. The surf photo was taken at Sebastian Beach. The Mahi Mahi is a photo of a mounted fish I have on our pool/patio area. The Mahi Mahi is a beautully colored fish. My hubby and I have caught many of these fish over the years. They can get up to 30-40 lbs. They are considered a saltwater game fish, and very good eating. I’ve taken the two photos and have merged them with PS. This piece is dedicated to my hubby :-) A Little Info: Mahi-mahi have a lifespan of no more than three to four years. Catches average 7 to 13 kg (15 to 28 pounds). They seldom exceed 15 kg (33 pounds), and any Mahi-mahi over 18 kg (39 pounds) is exceptional. Mahi-mahi have compressed bodies and long dorsal fins extending almost the entire length of their bodies. Their anal fins are sharply concave. They are distinguished by dazzling colors: golden on the sides, bright blues and greens on the sides and back. Mature males also have prominent foreheads protruding well above the body proper. Females have a rounded head. The males and female have similar shaped bodies except for their heads. Females are usually smaller than the males. When they are removed from the water, the fish often change between several colors (this being the reason for their name in Spanish Dorado Maverikos), finally fading to a muted yellow-grey upon death. Mahi-mahi is one of the fastest-growing fish. They are fast swimmers as well, with a top swimming speed of 50 knots. Mahi-mahi spawn in warm ocean currents throughout much of the year, and its young are commonly found in sargassum weed. Mahi-mahi are carnivorous, feeding on flying fish, crabs, squid, mackerel, and other small fish.
