Temple of Olympian Zeus, Athens Greece. It’s just such a powerful structure, I wanted to convey the kind of impression it left on me.

no markup amount for this design / The sculptures were seized at a period in time when the strong had the power of life and death over the weak. Now that time is gone. Now we serve other moral values and I believe that it is our moral duty to bring those treasures back to their homeland. First time I see Athens like that. As the air took the snow off the leaves of the trees, it created a magic atmosphere that will take many months for me to forget.
Edinburgh is sometimes referred to as the Athens of the North. To the best of my knowledge the main reason for the reference to Athens is due to the skyline of Calton Hill. / This artistic piece shows the Edinburgh Skyline of Calton Hill. Does it remind you of Athens? I wouldn’t know but I do know Edinburgh is a beautiful city. / Or at least it was until they started digging up all the roads to bring back a Tram service!! /
Scanned 35mm film One of the many – too many – homeless cats I photographed in Greece. In the Plaka, Athens to be precise.

The original ATHENA was the essence of the family bond, symbolized by the home and hearth – and by the mild serpent who, like a household cat, lived in the storehouse and protected the family’s food supplies against destructive rodents. As household goddess, Athena ruled the implements of domestic crafts: the spindle, the pot and the loom. By extrapalation, she was the guardian of the ruler’s home, the goddess of the palace – a symbol of the community itself, the larger social unit based on countless homes. / She is often depicted as a warrior and protector of the tribe – thereto the shield, arrows/quiver and owl or hawk depicted upon sculptures, glyphs and reliefs of her likeness. / This is a photograph of Athena, from Ceasar’s Palace Mall in Las Vegas, Nevada (taken many years ago) – it has been manipulated in photoshop7. / This is for the Divine Feminine “Oh my Goddess” challenge ~ Athena is probably the goddess that I most associate with, besides Lilith. ATHENA

An ancient monument of Athens, Columns of the Olympian Zeus are taller than the Acropolis, yet not so known due to the fact that most of them are missing. On the background you can see the Acropolis.
