“A man’s ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death”

  • A Skeptic's Wonder
    by Natalie Perkins

    US$24.22–US$129.20

People think that because I don’t believe in a creator-fairy that I must be unhappy and that I welcome death, violence and general bad stuff. It’s total bunkum, I am filled with the most amazing sense of awe when I consider exactly how I got to be here. I am star stuff! You are star stuff! There’s nothing more amazing! We have everything to live for: ourselves, the cosmos and maybe even the multiverse! • We make this country awesome.

  • On Sunday I went to brunch with my delightful friend, Miss Rinny. / We were reflecting on our attitudes to life, the world, and people, and came up with this succinct summary. /

  • This is my personal motto and a design that I wear on a t-shirt every easter when the nutters hit town for the Gospel Music Festival that Toowoomba has annoyingly embraced. It identifies me as a non-believer. I could also wear the t-shirt that states, “How dare you assume I’m a Christian”, but this covers everyone from wiccan, buddhist to atheist. Mine clearly points out my non-belief in outrageous nonsense. The phrase is a humorous twist on the philosopher Descartes famous quote, “Cogito ergo sum”, “I think therefore I am”... I wonder what the Latin word for “spam” would be? Ever notice how Xtians are down on other cultures for practicing human sacrifice and yet they turned the gruesome murder of millions of fellow humans into an artform? According to Monty Python they even developed special scales for deciding who should be put to the stake. Needed a duck to work them though, so you needed to be in duck country…and that’s why you should be very afraid of ducks. The scary sheep symbol is known as the Paschal lamb. Here’s a link to Australia’s premier atheist organisation the ATHEIST FOUNDATION OF AUSTRALIA INC />http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/ I really shouldn’t be so hard on Christians as I used to be one of them as a youth…actually that’s why I’m so hard on them. I know how obnoxious and exclusionary, ignorant and judgmental the Christian mindset is. I think it is a great pity that so many people of great potential waste their energy and lives propagating superstition when they could be putting their energy into things that actually helped humanity, like secular aid organisations and social justice groups for example.

  • Are you an Atheist and proud? Tired of being discriminated against? Sick of people who claim to believe in supernatural entities and who claim to have the high moral ground? Then this shirt might be for you. As an Atheist I believe there are no gods. I believe this live we have is the only life we get. I refuse to put off my enjoyment of this life for a fictional afterlife, no matter how nice it might sound. No God? No Worries.
