I thought this violin would make a nice picture, along with its bow and a violin music score. THANKS to the people who have purchased this card! xxx
This image was captured at Marsaxlokk, a quaint little fishing village in Malta. The water was a little murky and kind of greasy, no doubt caused by the diesel from the boats. This has probably caused the paint-like effect that seems prelevant in this image. I tweaked the brightness and colour saturation in photoshop but otherwise this picture is pretty much as is! It was a sunny day and that helped the colours to come out nicely..
I made a monochrome version of this image at the suggestion of Danielle Bailey . If you’re seeing this, I hope you like it Danielle. It was a great idea of yours I think. I quite like it in BW.. Thanks! If anyone may be interested in this but would prefer one without the red border please let me know. /
I just loved how the blue paint of this boat matched the hues of the sea at the time this shot was captured.
Mtahleb chapel in HDR. 3 different exposures were taken and merged for this one. /
Setting off fireworks at the local village ‘festa’, which is the maltese word for feast. This was shot with my mid-range zoom lens. It was a handheld shot. 1/10 sec at f4. ISO 200 and focal length 24mm. It was not easy to get this shot but I finally managed to get one I liked. I used to think that it was not possible to get a decent image hand-holding a camera in low light. Sometimes I like it when I prove myself wrong :) I would still rather have had my tripod with me though!!
A quiet soul / A heavenly smile / A rebellious nature / A lady of intangible qualities
And now for the latest news… Malta was yesterday plunged into complete darkness for a brief millisecond as Ms. Astrid Pardew caught the sun in her bare hand! (lol) PS This is a single image. No compositing or layering.. /

For the ‘Abstract Tree’ Challenge / This incredible-looking trunk is only a small part of a massive tree from the Ficus family. It is situated at san Anton Gardens, Attard, Malta. For the “God’s Signature” challenge. As soon as I read that there was to be a ‘God’s Signature’ challenge, this tree immediately came to mind. I call it the Cruciform Tree. It is a well-known tree in Malta. it is situated on the main road we refer to as ‘Rabat Road’. People sometimes light a candle or two, or place flowers at this extraordinary tree. For this picture, I lightened the ‘cruciform’ slightly so it would be more visible. No manipulations to the actual tree at all. This is a sculpture of nature. To me this truly is God’s signature! The below is a link to another image of this tree. My dear RB friends, I appreciate your comments greatly! Made for the ‘Motivational’ challenge. This is available without the border, as are all my other images that contain a border. It is also awailable without the wording. Please bmail me if interested.
Another shot of what I call the Cruciform Tree. This tree is a sculpture of nature. It is situated in Malta, vicinty of Rabat on the main road leading to it from the direction of Attard. I posted this one in addition th my previous BW shot because it shows the actual tree better I think. Just to prove to you its a real tree :) The below is a link to the BW image. There are absolutely no manipulations in this shot. Just the standard tweaking of colour and levels.
Steps at one of the side entrances of the cultural centre known here in Malta as St.James Cavallier. Thanks for looking! x
Created for the Dimensions Group ‘Through My Window’ Challenge Needless to say this is not my window…but one is allowed to dream…sigh!
This is one of my favourite creations to date. To me this epitomizes the colours and charm of the Maltese islands. Maybe I’m being fanciful…. or am I? Thanks all for looking! x Best viewed larger….
