This is one of my favorite verses of Scripture: “A bruised reed he will not break and a dimly burning wick he will not quench.” I love it because it speaks of the Lord’s gentleness, his compassion, his empathy for the downtrodden and the hurting, and his willingness to care tenderly for them in their dark hour, especially when others may have abandoned them.
